JosephWriterAnderson 2020 Highlights – An Odd Year In Review

Well…that’s a wrap on 2020. Wish there was more to say than that. It was definitely the strangest year I remember. And with lockdowns steadily increasing here in California, it does not look like there is an end to this strange way of living anytime soon. There’s a lot you could say about 2020. Despite the controversial year, however, it’s actually been a pretty good one here at JosephWriterAnderson.com. Including a new podcast, several books, and a whole lot of blog posts, 2020 has been booming. Here are some of the highlights.

The First Ever Episode of Keeping Up with Joe

2020 started on a positive note. And before being “quarantined” was even part of collective knowledge, Joseph Christianson and I recorded the first episode of Keeping Up with Joe ever! We talked about music, social media and stuff like that. It was a good conversation, and a lot of fun. What’s even better, Christianson has his own podcast now, too. He’s part of the family here at JosephWriterAnderson.com, so make sure to take a look at what he is up to!

Most Read Article – Self Publishing vs Traditional Publishing

One of the things that inspired me to create this website was the great feedback I got from fans about articles on medium that went viral, including this one about becoming a content creator. I’m glad to still be able to help inspire and motivate content creators and writers around the world via this website. And that’s reflected in the popularity of my #1 most read article, Self Publishing vs Traditional Publishing in 2020. I think it sums up some of the frustrations surrounding getting published in today’s mad, mad world. Give it a read for yourself.

I Published Two Books via My Own Publishing Brand

I’ve been fascinated by self publishing ever since it first became a thing back in the mid 2000s (yeah, I know I was a kid then). I’m glad though to finally have taken the time this year to put together two books and self published them on my very own. I learned a ton through this process, including not just about writing but about how to leverage Amazon advertising, book cover design, and more.

You can learn more about the books I published this year via my books page.

My Most Downloaded Podcast Episode Was About Homeschooling

Maybe thanks to the fact that homeschooling is on everyone’s mind thanks to the shutdown, the podcast episode I did with the fabulous Dr. Jessica Koehler and my talented friend, Sarah Avila, ended up being the most downloaded episode of them all. I’m super grateful to all of the wonderful guests I’ve had on the Keeping Up with Joe podcast this year, and also grateful to all of the listeners who have tuned in! You can listen to the Psychological Benefits of Homeschooling via my website or your favorite podcast player.

Plans Going into 2021

Thanks for reading this recap! I’m glad you joined me on this journey through 2020, and I’m really hoping 2021 will not only be a big year for the website, but also a better one for the country. As for my plans moving into 2021, I’m planning on continuing to bring you great new podcast episodes, as well as featured blog posts from stellar writers, and am planning another book launch, as well as plenty of new additions to the store.

Don’t forget to get in touch with me. I absolutely adore hearing from my readers, and appreciate each and every one of you!

All of my best,
