While there’s no shortage of Pokémon-themed books out there, none that I’ve ever read has brought the wonderful world of Pokémon to life in the way the new Pokécology: An Illustrated Guide to Pokémon Ecology manages to do.
I first came across this new book on Pokécology when writing about the jumbo Fossil Museum promo that released way back in January at the Natural History Museum in London.
After reading about the Pokécology book, I knew I had to have it. The book was written and illustrated by what are essentially the closest thing to real-life Pokémon Professors.

Immerse yourself in the world of Pokémon
When reading the book, you can certainly feel the depth of understanding about how these creatures would function in true-to-life habitats. While I’ve read plenty of Pokémon books both when I was a kid myself and as an adult, none has ever made the world of Pokémon feel so tangible – almost like you could be out in nature experiencing these creatures first hand!
The descriptions about Pokémon feel like something straight out of a nature documentary, fully immersing you in the world we all love so much.
While this experience is rewarding as a Pokémon-loving adult, it’s particularly enriching for the very young and very curious. I mean, who doesn’t remember wishing beyond hope that Pokémon were actually real? From a written standpoint, Pokécology gets the closest to bringing that world to life, complete with scientific realism.

Indeed, reading Pokécology is some of the most fun we’ve had reading any Pokémon book as a family: I highly recommend it, especially if you have a burgeoning young Pokémon Professor in the making.
