Blue Re:ZERO Gets What it Needs in New Rem Vol. 2 Card
More Re:ZERO Vol. 2 UNION ARENA spoilers are making their way into the public just weeks out from the Japanese release on October 30, 2026.
Today’s spoilers included a powerful new Priscilla Barielle Raid for the Green energy color that will be coming to Re:ZERO in Vol. 2. Of course, UNION ARENA Vol. 2s aren’t just about adding brand new decks: they’re also about strengthening existing strategies.
One such deck that’s very strong already but only needs a little more to truly thrive is the Blue Rem/Subaru deck. And it gets exactly what it needs with the new three-cost Rem.
Three-cost Rem fills a massive hole in the Blue Re:ZERO deck strategy
Rem (レム)
Card Type: Character
Cost / Action: 3 Cost / 1 Action
BP: 3000
Generated Energy: 2 Blue
Effects:
- [On Play] (登場時): Choose 1 of the following. You cannot choose an effect that a <Rem> has already chosen during this turn.
- Play up to 1 Blue <Natsuki Subaru> with a required energy of 0 from your Sideline (場外) onto your field in Rest. During this turn, that character gains "At the end of the Main Phase, retire this character."
- Choose up to 1 Blue <Natsuki Subaru> with a required energy of 0 on your field. During this turn, it gains "[Turn 1] (ターン1) When this character attacks and loses a battle, make this character Active."
Right now, Blue Rem/Subaru is easily one of the strongest decks in Re:ZERO. Until now, it seriously lacked a high-utility double energy generating character. However, it certainly gets that thanks to this three-cost Rem.
Apart from going for a clearly attention-seeking look, Rem catches the competitive eye with a cluster of effects uniquely designed to benefit the strategy.
Apart from the handy free-play that will increase the range of your five-cost Rem’s removal ability, the added aggressive play onto a zero-cost Subaru gives you more ways to close out the game.
This Rem is exactly what the deck needed to become more viable in the competitive climate. My only worry is that Vol. 2 will come out too late in the English Version for players to properly leverage its added power.
Zero-cost Subaru fills a different kind of void.
Natsuki Subaru (ナツキ・スバル)
Card Type: Character
Cost / Action: 0 Cost / 1 Action
BP: 2000
Generated Energy: 1 Blue
Trigger:
- [Active] (アクティブ): Choose 1 character on your field, make it Active, and it gets BP+3000 during this turn.
Zero-cost Subaru, however, fills a different void: mostly by giving you a stronger zero-cost version to run. You’ll probably drop the sideline-to-gain-energy Subaru and run this guy instead. He’s got the powerful Active Trigger and is a natural 2000 BP character that you’ll want to run in your deck. This makes early aggression and blocking from the get-go much easier than it currently is with this deck’s lineup of 1500 BP characters.
So far, Re:ZERO Vol. 2 is looking very strong. No release date has been confirmed for the English Version, however. Let’s just hope it doesn’t come too late to be effective for us.
