Every Pokemon TCG Product Releasing in August: Ascended Heroes Tins in the Spotlight
It may be August but summer is nowhere near over. Before we hit September, there are several key Pokémon TCG products coming out this month that you should be excited about. Below, we’ll be looking at each of these in more detail.

Let’s start with the earliest first: First Partner Illustration Collection Series 3!
These First Partner Collections have been a massive success so far, and typically draw quite the crowd when they come out. I managed to bag Series 1 when it came out and pulled the gorgeous Kanto Starter promos. In Series 3, however, a different set of memorable partners will join you on your journey: this time from the Hoenn, Kalos, or Paldea region.

Releasing August 28, 2026
The Illustration Collection Series 3 may be the product releasing first this month, it’s not actually the biggest. Indeed, the biggest product hitting the shelves this month is undoubtedly the new Ascended Heroes Tins – each containing one of three promos: Mega Meganium ex, Mega Feraligatr ex, and Mega Emboar ex.
These Mega Evolution promo cards may not necessarily be collectibles to die for, inside each tin can be found four Ascended Heroes booster packs. That’s a veritable treasure trove for most Pokémon TCG collectors and hunters.
While many months old at this point, Ascended Heroes is still the talk of the town, and still the top Mega Evolution era pack you can pick up. Each tin will include four Ascended Heroes booster packs – a fact which massively raises the desirability of these tins.

Releasing August 28, 2026
The Mega Forces Tins are going to be the least hyped product releasing in August, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t pick them up! While not nearly as desirable as the Ascended Heroes tins, these Mega Forces Tins contain three unique promos featuring Mega Pokémon: Mega Darkrai ex, Mega Dragonite ex, and Mega Zeraora ex.
These tins will contain four booster packs as well: most likely from recent main sets like Pitch Black, Chaos Rising, and Perfect Order (just a guess as the official booster packs have not been declared). While less desirable than the other two products releasing this month, that could increase your odds of finding them in the wild at MSRP, and also brings their value down to a more affordable range than their more hyped counterparts.
