Pokémon TCG Pocket Teases New Dual-Type Cards
As expected, big news is coming out of Pokémon Worlds 2026 in San Francisco about Pokémon’s physical and digital TCGs. Pokémon TCG Pocket has been getting plenty of attention from its game designers lately, with a recent Team Rocket-themed set that portrayed Jessie and James on a card for the first time in years.
However, something really big is in store for Pocket fans: new Dual-type Pokémon cards will be entering the game, and the first one will be a Fighting/Psychic-type Mega Mewtwo X ex.
While not the first time Dual-type cards have ever been introduced into any Pokémon TCG, it is the first time Pokémon TCG Pocket has had them, marking a significant evolution of the game.
The yet-to-be-named upcoming set that will include Dual-types is coming out in October, and it will also feature first partner Pokémon as Pokémon ex cards. Pokémon hints at additional iconic partners being made available in the game. However, two have been revealed so far: Piplup ex and Fuecoco ex.
See the video teaser trailer that first announced these upcoming cards, and stay tuned for more updates about October’s set as they become available.
