Oftentimes in card games, the beauty of a card and value go hand-in-hand.
Such is the case in UNION ARENA’s Sword Art Online set. Now with two volumes, Sword Art Online is one of the strongest and most valuable titles in all of UNION ARENA. Indeed, if you are a Sword Art Online fan and at all inclined towards card games, you should absolutely give UNION ARENA a try.
Below, we’ll be taking a look at the 10 most expensive and stunning Sword Art Online UNION ARENA cards.

#1 Asuna SR*** (Vol. 2)
Asuna (042) (SR***)

The single most expensive card of all in UNION ARENA: Sword Art Online is this Asuna SR*** rarity card featuring Asuna from the second Progressive film. This card is worth an absolute killing for a modern trading card, a fact which is made even more painful by the fact that I remember when it was once worth less than $1,000 (and I wish I had picked it up back then).
Apart from featuring my favorite character from my favorite anime, this particular card is desirable for me as Sword Art Online Progressive will forever be one of my favorite decks.
Unlike English Version UNION ARENA sets that would come later, neither Sword Art Online or its Vol. 2 have serialized Action Point cards, making this still very rare (one per three cases) SR*** Parallel Art card the most valuable of the entire title.
#2 Kirito SR*** (Base Set)
Kirito (041) (SR***)
UE07BT: Sword Art Online • Super Rare 3-Star

This Kirito SR*** card has had an absolutely insane rise in value, that pretty much matches UNION ARENA’s own popularity as a game, as well as Sword Art Online’s prominence within it for collectors. Today, Sword Art Online remains one of the most valuable sets overall, with an incredible collection of high value cards.
Here, Kirito is portrayed in his original Aincrad/Black Swordsman gear, making this one of the most iconic Sword Art Online cards of them all.
#3 Asuna SR*** (Base Set)
Asuna (037) (SR***)

Back in the day, Asuna was the original most expensive UNION ARENA card. She held that title for a very long time, too – essentially until Kagurabachi came out and blew everyone’s minds. Now, she’s still one of the most valuable cards overall, and it’s no wonder why. As one of the most iconic anime girls of all time, she commands both respect and value, sporting her original (and some say best) outfit – the Knights of the Blood uniform.
#4 Kirito SR*** (Vol. 2)
Kirito (049) (SR***)
UEX06BT: Sword Art Online Vol.2 • Super Rare 3-Star

Apart from the Vol. 2 Asuna that is the clear money favorite, the next three SR*** cards are all worth a similar amount of money. Progressive Kirito’s card is the least valuable of the group, but it’s not by much. Here he’s sporting his look from Progressive, and wielding only one sword as this was before he acquired his signature dual wielding skill.
#5 Yuna SR** (Vol. 2)
Yuna (032) (SR**)
UEX06BT: Sword Art Online Vol.2 • Super Rare 2-Star

Yuna remains a favorite among Sword Art Online fans everywhere. While in the broader anime culture universe Aincrad is when SAO peaked, many find Ordinal Scale to be one of the story’s best moments. Yuna is a tragic and lovable character from that film, and she plays a huge role in Sword Art Online’s second volume. Indeed, her deck is arguably the strongest of the entire set.
#6 Sinon SR** (Base Set)
Sinon (091) (SR**)

Other than Asuna, Sinon is arguably the most popular SAO girl. She’s incredibly strong both in the anime as well as in UNION ARENA, capable of Sniping characters with Impact.
But that’s not what drives this card’s value. Indeed, it’s one of the franchise’s most beloved characters in her iconic look and pose that commands such impressive value.
#7 Sinon (Sun Goddess, Solus) R**
Sinon (Sun Goddess, Solus) (R**)

While her GGO look may be her most memorable, it’s when she’s in her Goddess form that she is at her strongest. Not only does she have one of the best entrances in anime when she debuts her new look and powers, she follows it up with the same kindness and steadfastness that we love about her as a character. The greenish color to this ornately decorated card as overt tie-ins with her GGO card despite being a Yellow energy color Parallel Rare.
#8 Asuna (Stacia, the Goddess of Creation) R**

Sinon isn’t the only goddess to get placed on this list, however. Here Asuna stuns in her most powerful form of all – as the uniquely gifted Goddess of Creation. In this form, Asuna can manipulate landscapes, heal deadly injuries, and even more than that, has reached the peak of her power as a leader.
#9 Alice Synthesis Thirty SR** (Base Set)
Alice Synthesis Thirty (013) (SR**)

Alice fans will be glad to know that she is also featured among the most desirable Sword Art Online UNION ARENA cards. Stern and silent as ever, yet harboring one of the Underworld’s most deadly powers, Alice’s pose in this shows her undeniable hope and bravery in the face of all odds: something which helps this card’s value reach quite high.
#10 Kirito SR** (Alicization, Vol. 2)
Kirito (002) (SR**)
UEX06BT: Sword Art Online Vol.2 • Super Rare 2-Star

Last but not least is this Kirito Card that features him wielding both the Night Sky Blade and the Blue Rose Sword. Like Asuna, here Kirito is at his most powerful and deadly. And while UNION ARENA’s TCG has yet to feature a deck entirely themed around the Star King, given how powerful he becomes by the end of the Underworld War arc, they really should make one.
UNION ARENA has a lot of great sets, yet for me, Sword Art Online remains my favorite. Whether you are interested in trying the game for yourself, or just want to collect, you can’t go wrong with this set!
