The 10 Most Expensive New Type Rising Gundam Cards
The Gundam Card Game is finally officially here, with the global release fully underway as of July 25, 2025. I can attest to my personal experience playing at the New Type Rising Booster Pack Launch Event that Gundam is an insanely fun game with incredible potential. However, TCGs aren’t all about playing – they’re also about trading, collecting, and chasing. In this guide, we’ll be going over the big New Type Rising Gundam cards to chase, with rankings being based on real market data derived from actual card sales when available, and current listings prices for the rarest of the batch that haven’t yet found a buyer.
#1 Gundam Aerial Rebuild (LR++)
New Type Rising’s top chase card
Listing price $1000+
New Type Rising isn’t only a set for fans of the original Gundam series: it’s got plenty of characters and suits from the latest stuff, too. One Pilot who gets a ton of support in this set is Suletta Mercury. Not only does she get a plethora of powerful Units to Link with, her Gundam gets the second most valuable printing in the set thanks to this incredibly rare LR++ alternate art card.
Just how much is it worth? Sales data hasn’t actually posted yet so we can’t be sure. But given original listings being over the $1000 mark, it seems highly likely that the LR++ Gundam Aerial Rebuild will be the defining chase card of Gundam’s first set.
#2 Gundam LR++
The original Gundam
Listing price: $700-800
Given this is the Gundam Card Game’s inagural set, you should know they’re going to go all out to show that this game is one with total staying power. And of course that means giving us an LR++ of the original Gundam. Given it’s an LR++, however, that means it’s going to be incredibly hard to come by as the rarest type in the game. And while there’s no actual sales data recorded for this guy yet, listing prices have it hovering in the $700-$800 price range. To be honest, that sounds quite reasonable to me for this iconic Gundam card.
#3 The Witch and the Bride R+
A top chase card
Market price: $115.56
The Witch and the Bride isn’t just a highly collectible card: it’s a very strong one. Capable of activating off of Burst as a powerful defensive layer, you can bounce one enemy unit with 5 or less HP to the hand. The Gundam series this card is based on is quite popular, giving this card double the reason to be a top chase from the set.
#4 Overflowing Affection
Power and beauty
Market price: $106.26
I’m a little biased in my views of this particular card given I’m a big fan of both Gundam Seed and Lacus. However, this is my favorite alternate art card from the set. Market data seems to agree with me, putting this card within striking distance of the top single + chase card at this moment.
#5 Resource (R-002) (C++)
Irresistible bling featuring an original Gundam
Market price: $99.56
Arguably one of Gundam’s most iconic suits, this Gundam dating from the original Gundam series makes for an ideal addition to any serious collector’s resource deck. I could totally see really diehard fans blinging out their entire resource deck with this card. A costly proposition, but certainly worth it for some.
#6 Wing Gundam Zero LR+
A nostalgic favorite
Market price: $76.65
Gundam Wing may not be the best Gundam series ever, but for many it’s a nostalgic favorite as it’s the first Gundam to make it big in the states. Of course, the monstrously powerful Gundam made it’s way into the inaugural set for the Gundam Card Game, and boy is this big guy powerful.
If you’re looking for an alt art card that’s a relatively safe bet in terms of retaining value, I’d have to pick this guy as my top pick. It’s just such an iconic Gundam that had such a huge impact on the franchises’s adoption by the west. It’s the ideal addition to any Gundam Card Game collection.
#7 Gundam Aerial Rebuild LR+
Market price: $76.36
Another popular Gundam albeit without the kind of historic resonance of Wing Gundam, the Gundam Aerial Rebuild hovers in the pale blue light surrounded by swirls of color that almost match the intensity of this card’s powerful effect: one that lets you return any Command card you’ve used to your hand. I could see this effect being ideal to combo with the top card on this list: The Witch and The Bride.
#8 A Show of Resolve U+
Market price: $75
Apart from being the single strongest draw effect in the game right now, A Show of Resolve U+ stands out more for its realistic artwork than anything else. In a set of chase cards that prefer to be painted against abstract backgrounds, this one plants us in the center of town for a nice city stroll. The effect? Easy. A Show of Resolve is one of New Type Rising’s top chase cards.
#9 Unicorn Gundam (Destroy Mode) LR+
Sacrificing it all for a big hit
Market price: $71
I absolutely love this Gundam. Other than looking super cool, combo this guy with your Lv. 5 Unicorn and you can play it for zero cost. As if that weren’t enough, when attacking, you can straight up rest an opposing unit, poking some insane holes in your opponent’s defenses.
Unicorn Gundam (Destroy Mode) is a brawn over brain sort of a card, and it’s totally tempting to play just for that reason.
#10 The Freedom Gundam LR+
Gundam Seed’s iconic suit
Market price: $70.40
The Freedom Gundam’s alt art looks absolutely sick, and I especially like the shadow effect cast on the suit’s face and shooting arm. What’s more, this unit is seriously strong. With the mighty blocker keyword, and an effect that negates AP-2, Freedom Gundam gives players some serious reasons to include this card in their deck.
This is another card that I could see fairing well in value overtime. While Seed may not be a Gundam favorite among the critics, it’s arguably one of the most popular among fans. And that popularity could easily see this card retaining value well after the early release days.
