In this list, we’ll be diving into the most expensive Twilight Masquerade cards – both those officially revealed and those anticipated.

Greninja ex 214/167 – Special Illustration Rare

If you thought Radiant Greninja was cool, just wait until you meet Greninja ex. Apart from a pretty gnarly artwork design that sees Greninja at the center of what looks like a barage of paint, Greninja ex has some pretty strong attacks. Its Mirage Barrage does what Radiant Greninja’s attack does only better – upping the ante to 120 damage to any of your opponent’s Pokemon. Meanwhile, Shinobi Blade does an impressive 170 damage but also lets you search for any card in your deck.

Radiant Greninja is going to be a big chase card for most players and hopefully they have better luck with the pull rates in this set than we got in Temporal Forces.

Eevee 188/167 – Illustration Rare

Eevee

Like most Pokemon fans, I too harbor a deep love for Eevee. And this card is one of my favorite alternate arts I’ve seen to date. What’s more, the attack “Ascension” makes me wonder (and hope) if we might be in store for some powerful Eeveelution ex cards in the near future.

Whether that’s the case or not, this card is easily going to be one of the most valuable cards in this set thanks to a combination of Eevee’s popularity and this card’s gorgeous illustration.

Perrin 220/167 – Special Illustration Rare

Perrin

This Perrin special illustration rare card has one of the coolest concepts of any special illustration rare trainer I’ve seen lately. With Perrin holding what is now a vintage camera (who uses cameras anymore?) that reflects the exact image of another illustration rare card (Growlith), it’s a fun way of connecting trainer with Pokemon. Not to mention Perrin has a pretty helpful effect making her likely to see some play in decks like Lugia VSTAR that need specific Pokemon in play for them to work.

We’ll be updating this list with additional Twilight Masquerade chase cards as they are revealed so stay tuned!

Ogerpon ex Special Illustration Rares

Although these haven’t technically been revealed by the Pokemon Company yet, most likely we’ll get these special illustration rare versions of the Ogerpon ex cards in Twilight Masquerade. These cards are actually quite beautiful in their own way, and are more painterly than the grandiose Illustration Rares of past sets that tend to have a lot going on in their backgrounds. Instead we see in these cards an emphasis simply on the artwork and the Ogerpon Pokemon themselves.

Browse the gallery below to see those that have been revealed in the Japanese Mask of Change expansion.

Carmine Special Illustration Rare

Carmine Special Illustration Rare

Carmine has been confirmed to be part of Twilight Masquerade, although her special illustration artwork hasn’t been officially revealed yet (in English). That being said, she’s going to be one of the very most expensive cards in Temporal Forces, and the prime chase card for many.

Apart from her value, I’m pretty impressed with her playability. She’s got this great effect that lets you discard your hand and draw five cards even if it happens to be your first turn!

Tatsugiri 186/187 – Special Illustration Rare

Tatsugiri

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that Tatsugiri will be one of the most desirable cards in all of Twilight Masquerade for two reasons. Sure, it’s got nice art and it’s an illustration rare. However, that being said it’s actually a fantastic card for players of the game. It’s so good that the player demand will drive it up highly in price.
