BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War Advanced Deck contents

BLEACH Advanced Deck

One of the best things about the UNION ARENA Advanced BLEACH deck is that it comes with the majority of what you need to play one of the best decks in the game directly out of the box.

The deck comes with a combination of complete four-of line for many core characters, and a few two-ofs that include the SRs. All of the cards are foil and one Parallel Rare card is included at random. Originally, I thought this Parallel Rare was guaranteed to be one of the SR cards but realized that it can be any of the cards in the box.

Even without upgrading this deck, it’s easily the strongest UNION ARENA starter deck we’ve ever seen. But the good news is, it’s extremely easy to upgrade.

UNION ARENA: BLEACH Advanced Deck basic upgrade

Typically when I do my starter deck upgrade guides, I have to put a lot of creative thought into how to merge two copies of the same product into one deck that functions half-way decently.

That wasn’t the case with the Advanced Deck. Indeed, buying two of these products essentially guarantees you almost the complete Purple BLEACH Ichigo/Rukia deck build – minus only the Uryu character cards.

In the picture above, you can see I’m running four copies of every essential card, dropping random or outdated cards (for this build) like the Byakuya, Kisuke, Renji, and zero-cost Uryu.

Unlike virtually any past starter deck, you could totally take this deck to a local tournament and have a good chance at winning. However, it is missing one very powerful upgrade that you’ll want in the final build.

Also in the picture you can see the three foil Action Point cards that are included in every Advanced Deck, as well as the Parallel Rare zero-cost Ichigo and two-cost Orihime I got at random in my decks.

BLEACH Advanced Deck full upgrade

As you can see, all you are missing from making your Advanced Deck a truly top tier UNION ARENA deck is just three copies of one card: Uryu.

Technically you don’t really need him, and if you don’t have him and you want to just run what you have in your Advanced Decks, you can go with either the two-cost Orihime or the one-cost Renji. However, Uryu makes the already strong BLEACH Purple deck even stronger by unlocking a powerful attacker and constant sideline refueling. I’ve tested the deck with and without Uryu, and can confidently say it’s much better with the Uryu.

However, Uryu is a little pricey right now, and we don’t know if that will change. While typically cards do come down in value over time, sometimes really competitively viable cards stay pricey for a while. Yet even at its current price tag, if you already have the Advanced Decks in hand, then the cost to get the full upgrade is relatively minimal.

I have to say the UNION ARENA team really hit it out of the park with this product. I was blown away from the first moment I opened the box: everything about it from the packaging to the cards felt premium. My cards were perfectly (or near perfectly) straight, felt even sturdier than usual UNION ARENA cards (might have been my imagination) and the decks were incredibly easy to upgrade.
