The first ever Special Art Rare card for the upcoming Japanese Pokémon TCG set, Aura Seeker, was just officially revealed by the Pokémon Company. It’s illustrated by legendary manga artist, Tetsuo Hara, best known for his work, Fist of the North Star, and features Pokémon Trainer Crasher Wake in a Supporter card called “Crasher Wake’s Passion.”
This is the second time the Pokémon TCG has featured a Special Art/Special Illustration Rare card illustrated by Hara. The first was in Prismatic Evolutions when he illustrated Palafin ex

While the Palafin Special Illustration Rare card almost resembles a Van Gogh painting in its presentation and artistry, Hara says he had a “better grasp” of the range of emotion he could use based on his experience with Palafin.
“Since he's a professional wrestler, I thought about how to portray his strength and muscles. I'm committed to realistic drawing, so I considered how much detail to include” Hara said in his interview with the Pokémon Company.

Crasher Wake’s Passion Special Illustration Rare should release in Flowing Fist
Hara being the one to create this impressive card artwork is somewhat poetic as this card also serves as the first Special Illustration Rare card spoiler for the upcoming Pokémon TCG English set, Flowing Fist. Surely the subject and card art fits that theming perfectly, and although the Pokémon Company International has yet to even confirm the existence of this upcoming Lucario-themed set, it’s expected to release on February 5, 2027, and be largely based on Japan’s Aura Seeker, which releases on November 27, 2026.
In addition to the first Special Art Rare, a handful of additional cards were revealed for Aura Seeker.
Expect many more cards from this set to release in the coming weeks leading up to the big release date, and check out the cards revealed so far via my Aura Seeker spoiler posts.
