Disney Lorcana: Reign of Jafar Spoilers
Disney Lorcana’s “Reign of Jafar” is releasing on May 30, 2025 and Lorcana players and enthusiasts are excited to say the least. While there’s been relative silence on Ravensburger side of things lately, they dropped some pretty massive news about the set via a Twitch livestream where they revealed not only many spoilers from Reign of Jafar but also what the “Next Chapter” of Lorcana is going to look like.
For now, let’s focus on Reign of Jafar and what goodies we are going to be getting in this set, including the cards, the products and more.

First, let’s dive into the products coming out in Reign of Jafar.
Disney Lorcana: Illumineer's Quest: Palace Heist
For starters, the most anticipated product coming out in Reign of Jafar is arguably the new Illumineer’s Quest. An Illumineer’s Quest is not a new concept: we had one of these back when Ursula’s Return came out. However, as revealed on the stream, this Illumineer’s Quest offers a pretty significant advantage over its predecessor thanks to one big change: packaging. The previous Illumineer’s Quest was packaged as a regular TCG product – one you open and then discard the contents later. This left storage up to the imaginations of the Illumineer’s.
The problem with that? I can personally attest to how my own Ursula’s Return quest got jumbled and confused with the rest of my cards.
An easy remedy is the nice storage box it now comes with, including deck boxes to store your decks and things of the sort.
Reign of Jafar Booster Box and Trove
If you’re really hungry for a lot of Reign of Jafar packs, you can’t go wrong with the booster box. That’s going to be your most effective way to get the most cards to build new decks and test out new strategies. If you’re looking for a more value approach, I really enjoy the Illumineer’s Troves. They provide a decent amount of packs at a very affordable price point.
Reign of Jafar Single Player Decks
Every new Lorcana set brings with it new single player decks to try out as well. This time around it looks like we’re getting a Ruby/Steel and an Amethyst/Amber. While this is the third Amethyst/Amber deck we’ve gotten a starter deck from, Ruby/Steel is a new combo and could be an interesting one to try out.

Reign of Jafar Accessories
Finally, the accessories! We’re getting a bunch of new accessories in Reign of Jafar to go along with the core products. As usual these artworks are based on past cards from other sets. See the deck boxes and playmats available when the set launches end of May below.
Reign of Jafar Set Championship Promo
Before closing things out here, I wanted to talk about the Set Championship promo. While Set Championship promos have been something of a hot debate among Lorcana fans, one issue we’ve been seeing within the community is a bit of a lackluster reception around set champ promos. This Jafar promo, however, looks pretty solid and could be a very exciting way to get players back in shops to duke it out for a relatively rare and playable new card.
Things are really looking up for Lorcana. The game is maturing into a fully fledged TCG with a solid track record, and based on what we’ve seen for upcoming sets like Fabled, I’m pretty excited for where the game is going to go!
