Every Mega Rayquaza Card Revealed for Pokémon TCG: Delta Reign
Are you ready for more Rayquaza? Because that’s exactly what we are going to get when Delta Reign hits the shelves this November 6, 2026.
It’s been a busy day for Pokémon TCG fans eagerly awaiting news of the highly anticipated Rayquaza set releasing later this year. Of course, those in Japan won’t have nearly as long of a wait: they’ll be getting Storm Emeralda (on which our Delta Reign set will be based) later this week on July 31, 2026.
Because that’s just a few days away, early pack openings are giving us a solid sneak peek at what the Delta Reign card list will look like when the set comes out.
And of course, the various Mega Rayquaza ex cards coming out in this set are causing quite the hype already.
Below, we’ll be looking at each and every Mega Rayquaza card coming out in Delta Reign.
Mega Rayquaza ex – Double Rare

Colorless - HP280 Basic Pokemon Ability: Champion's Roar When you play this Pokémon from your hand to your Bench during your turn, you may look at the top 4 cards of your deck and attach a Basic Energy card you find there to this Pokémon. Shuffle the rest of the cards into your deck. [R][L][C] Storm Emeralda: 50x damage. This attack deals 50 damage for each [R] and [L] Energy attached to all of your Pokémon in play. Mega Evolution ex Rule: When your Mega Evolution Pokémon ex is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 3 Prize cards. Weakness: Lightning (x2) Resistance: Fighting (-30) Retreat: 2
To start things off we have the Mega Rayquaza ex Double Rare card. Statistically, you have a pretty good shot at pulling this card when Delta Reign comes out: double rare cards have over a 20% hit rate in recent Mega Evolution packs.
And that’s a good thing considering how much of a beast this card is. A Rayquaza deck (from Sword and Shield) was the first Pokémon TCG deck I ever played competitively, and as such, Rayquaza cards hold a special place in my heart.
This Double Rare card will be making its way into my deck day one of Delta Reign’s release: I only wish I didn’t have to wait until November to take this powerful attacker out for a spin!
Mega Rayquaza ex Ultra Rare
Mega Evolution hit it out of the park for its Ultra Rare Mega Pokémon card designs. Even so, while this card image is a little blurry right now (it’s the best we have early days), from what I can see this artwork goes above and beyond even the high standards set by the current era.
If you’ve followed any of my Pokémon TCG market guides, you’ll know that when sets are based off a central, popular Pokémon, their Ultra Rare cards tend to do well. So I would expect the same to be true of this card: it’s easily a top chase for the set despite being a relatively lesser rarity.
Mega Rayquaza – Special Illustration Rare
A card that almost needs no introduction: the Mega Rayquaza ex Special Illustration Rare (SIR) card is pure fire – not only will it be the top chase from Delta Reign, it quite likely will be one of the strongest pulls from all of Mega Evolution. In terms of bankability, this card is easily in the same league as the Mega Charizard X ex SIR from Phantasmal Flames.
A mixture of pure light and power, the Mega Rayquaza ex SIR sends absolute chills down my spine. And it really should for anyone who has been a fan of this particular Pokémon since we found him on Sky Pillar.
Mega Rayquaza ex – Mega Hyper Rare
Last but not least, give it up for the Mega Rayquaza ex Mega Hyper Rare!
Mega Hyper Rare is a rarity type unique to the Mega Evolution of the Pokémon TCG. And unlike past “hyper rare” cards, this gold-plated card is exceptionally hard to pull: like 1 in 1000+ packs kind of hard to pull.
Yet even so, Mega Hyper Rare cards just don’t have the same kind of visual or collectible appeal as the Special Illustration Rare cards, making them typically less valuable than their SIR counterparts.
That being said, it’s a card that will still be worth hundreds of dollars on the secondary market: likely similar in value to Mega Charizard X ex’s own Mega Hyper Rare.
Delta Reign is going to be a much bigger set than what we’ve seen lately. While not as big as Pokémon 30th Celebration, it’s got one of Pokémon’s most bankable characters at its core, surrounded by a cast of solid secondary chase cards.
