Exclusive Pikachu Pokémon Run 30 Promo Revealed

Sometimes, it’s fun to be a North America-based Pokémon TCG enthusiast. Like when we get exclusive store promo cards when a new set releases, or when Pokémon Worlds lands on our shores two years in a row.

However, sometimes it’s not so fun, like when Pokémon releases a very cool new and exclusive promo overseas.

Such is the case today with the reveal of an exclusive Pikachu promo that you can only get by participating in a Pokémon Run event in Taiwan and other locations in Asia to celebrate Pokémon’s 30th Anniversary.

The undeniably cute Pikachu promo features Pikachu in a visor running down a path that leads to a city that looks like Taipei in the background. Pokémon-themed shaped clouds can be seen drifting in the background behind rolling hills and palm trees.

What is Pokémon Run?

If you’re like me, seeing this Pikachu promo card may be the first time you’ve ever come across the Pokémon Run event. And honestly, I’m pretty jealous of folks in Asia after seeing how cool these events are. Not only do they feature a special Pokémon Run event meant to encourage Pokémon fans to get out and get healthy, but the whole thing has a family-friendly festival/party component attached.

The “Pokémon Run” itself is heavily Pokémon-themed. You get to choose your partner, battle “gyms” in the form of obstacle courses, hydrate at an on-site Pokémon Center, and even come across different Pokémon along the route that will give you stickers.

Beyond the running and the festival, there’s exclusive merch you can get, photo opportunities, Pokémon video games and content experiences, and more.

Sounds like the run of a lifetime if you ask me!
