30th Celebration Promo Video Shows Pokémon Cards in the Real World
The excitement of Pokémon Worlds 2026 may be over, but the excitement for the next Pokémon TCG set, 30th Celebration, releasing on September 16, 2026 has only just begun. A brand new promotional video dropped via the official Japan Pokémon YouTube channel to preview the set.
Rather than revealing a ton of new information, the trailer focuses on the fun. Regular people are shown opening 30th Celebration packs in everyday locations, showing how intertwined with everyday life Pokémon cards have become.
Additionally, the promo video puts a special emphasis on the many Pikachu cards included in the Pikachu Collection that can be found in 30th Celebration packs.
There are thirty different Pikachu cards that can be pulled from packs, each with a unique fireworks foil pattern and a special Pikachu Collection number right next to the main set number.
One cool thing the preview does is theme the cards it shows with what’s happening with the people in the background.
For example, the trailer opens with a guy sitting high up in the air pulling a Ho-Oh that’s similarly high in the sky.
Many of the Pikachu Collection cards were depicted via familiar, real-world backdrops very similar to the artwork depicted in the cards.
Not only is this a really fun way of showing how relatable Pokémon is no matter what you are into, but it also takes Pokémon 30th Celebration out of the confines of any particular video game and puts its focus squarely on the impact the franchise has on the real world.
This real-world take works particularly well for 30th Celebration’s theming that puts an emphasis on displaying Pokémon in familiar daytime and nighttime scenes.
