Finally, Pokemon Fans Have a Reason to Watch the Super Bowl
Pokemon fans have a big reason to watch Super Bowl LX this year now that an official Pokemon commercial has been announced for the major event. Celebrating 30 years of Pokemon, this commercial airing during the Super Bowl on February 8, 2026 has already been teased via a video of Jigglypuff bouncing around what appears to be an old fashioned recording studio. No doubt, Jigglypuff is helping the creative crew over at the Pokemon Company come up with some solid tunes for their big debut. Meanwhile, fans have been jumping on board this excitement train with their own predictions for what this 30th anniversary celebration might reveal.
Many speculate that we will be getting an official reveal of Pokemon’s 10th generation. Whatever occurs in the commercial, it will undoubtedly be huge for the entire Pokemon fandom.
What will be in the Super Bowl LX Pokemon commercial?
Rumors aside, fans have more to go by in regards to what the commercial will actually be about thanks to the official press release from the Pokemon Company. According to the release, the commercial will put a special emphasis on community.
“The Pokémon community has been the foundation and inspiration for the brand since the very beginning, and the passion of our fans is what has allowed Pokémon to have a lasting impact on pop culture around the world and across generations,”
While the online Pokemon community may be abuzz with their own expectations about what will be unveiled during the commercial, from what we have to go by so far the focus of the commercial seems to be specifically on Pokemon’s 30th Anniversary Celebration, with the Pokemon Company stating that “more details about the yearlong campaign will be unveiled following Super Bowl LX.” Apparently these “more details” will include an interactive component to them that the Pokemon Company refers to as “fan-focused activations.”
Indeed, given how big the Pokemon’s 30th Anniversary seems to be cooking up to be for the franchise, relatively scant information has been available thus far. Undoubtedly the commercial and the “m ore details” to follow after it will help give fans a clearer picture of what the Pokemon’s 30th Anniversary is going to include.
Will a new Pokemon TCG “Celebrations set” be announced?
My biggest guess for what will be included in the announcements coming out of the commercial and subsequent details is that we are likely to get a special 30th Celebration Pokemon set in 2026. Already, rumors of a “Celebrations Collection” trademark being made in Japan by the Pokemon Company have made waves online, and it seems highly likely that we will be getting a special, dedicated Pokemon TCG set to commemorate the event like we did for Pokemon’s 25th Anniversary. This would be a full blown Pokemon TCG set similar to the recent Ascended Heroes set rather than just one-off products that have already been announced by the Pokemon Company International.
It’s just a guess that a set like this might be announced, however, as no news yet to confirm this has been officially revealed.
Pokemon’s 30th year celebrations continue to heat up with exclusive products

News of the Super Bowl LX commercial isn’t the only cause for celebration in 2026 for Pokemon fans of all kinds. Indeed, things have been heating up in a big way to celebrate the franchise’s 30th year – one that the Pokemon Company promises to be their best year yet.
Below, let’s look at all of the 30th anniversary products and merchandise announced by the Pokemon Company International to date.
Pokemon Day 2026 Collection
While we may not have confirmation of a full-blown Pokemon TCG set yet, several Pokemon TCG products have been announced. First, a special Pokemon Day Collection TCG product is already available to fans – one that includes a very cool exclusive Pikachu Promo with a special stamp on it, a coin, and three Pokemon TCG booster packs from recent sets.
While this special collection will likely be hard to find “in the wild” at stores near you, it’s actually available via my partners at TCGPlayer at a fairly reasonable price point right now.
First Partner Illustration Collection
The other 30th Anniversary product that made waves recently is the First Partner Illustration Collection. Releasing throughout 2026 in waves featuring iconic starters from every generation of Pokemon to date, this Illustration Collection is already being eyed by collectors and Poke Investment bros for its potential value, given how expensive its equivalent in the 25th Anniversary product line is today (so long as it is sealed). While this TCG product includes a variety of goodies for fans including a sticker sheet and two booster packs, the real money item is the special Illustration Collection Booster pack that includes three-of-nine Illustration Pokemon promo cards.
30th Anniversary card accessories
Finally, some special 30th Anniversary card accessory products are already available via the Pokemon Center online store, including a deck box and special sleeves.
Additional Pokemon 30th anniversary merchandise will be available throughout 2026
As big as the Pokemon TCG is, Pokemon is about more than just it’s trading cards, and the wide range of 30th Anniversary-themed merchandise reflects that reality. These products are available via the official Pokemon Center online store.
Beyond official merch, various 30th Anniversary items are available via Pokemon’s many licensor agreements, such as Lego Pokemon sets and Jazzware toys (which are great, by the way).
I don’t know about you, but I have never been this excited to watch football in my life. With so much excitement for Pokemon’s 30th Anniversary in the air, I absolutely can’t wait for more news about what to expect from Pokemon’s biggest year yet!
