Gengar ex, Mew, and Mewtwo Revealed Alongside Pokémon 30th Celebration Main Set List

At long last, we can almost close the loop on the whirlwind of a spoiler season it has been for Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration. I said almost.

Today, Pokémon dropped the entire Pokémon 30th Celebration main set list, including the reveal of never-before-seen cards like the new Gengar ex.

Gengar ex

Gengar ex may be getting a yet-to-be-revealed Special Illustration Rare (SIR) in this set so stay tuned for more info on that. Until then, Gengar ex isn’t the only intriguing card confirmed by the official reveal on Japan’s Official Pokémon TCG site: a serene Mew was also revealed, alongside a domineering Mewtwo.

Of course, the newly revealed Mew and Mewtwo convey the same themes of day and night as they have for each of their official reveals this set so far. Yet it’s the pastoral Mew card – deeply reminiscent of that Pokémon’s first appearance in the lore – that really catches my eye.

The rest of the 30th Celebration main list set revealed

While it’s highly likely several more secret rare cards will be spoiled in the final week leading up to 30th Celebration’s worldwide release, the final cards from the main set list completes the puzzle at least for the majority of the set.

Alongside this Gengar ex, Mew, and Mewtwo are the rest of the missing cards from 30th Celebration’s main set list.

A discerning eye will be able to tell straight away that there are some significant differences between the Japan 30th Celebration set and our own. The clearest sign: the set numbers are different. While we don’t yet know the exact number of over-numbered/secret rare cards the set will ultimately contain, the main set list differs by a decent margin.

The main set list for 30th Celebration in Japan is just 103 cards versus our hearty 128.

That’s not, however, because there will be drastic differences between the two regions. Rather, some of the cards being released in products exclusive to Japan (like the starter decks that include Umbreon and Espeon) will be batched into the full card list over here.

Stay tuned for more updates on Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration as we head into the home stretch!
