Perhaps to no surprise, the single most anticipated Mega Pokémon ex coming out in Chaos Rising (releasing next week on May 22, 2026 but a day earlier on Pokémon TCG Live) is also getting a Battle Pass deck.
Battle Pass decks are free decks available within Pokémon TCG Live for players to try out – no deck crafting required. And while the strength of free-to-play Battle Pass decks varies greatly, players should be pretty happy with Mega Greninja ex. Meanwhile, Mega Floette offers some fun combos that more daring players will enjoy.

Mega Greninja ex deck list
Mega Greninja ex should be a force to be reckoned with when it comes out with Chaos Rising. And while we’ve seen players in Japan tech this deck out with other meta favorites like Dragapult ex, above we have more of a pure Mega Greninja ex build. This one partners the behemoth sniper with Mega Staryu ex from Perfect Order. And that strategy actually does make sense given Staryu’s combo of damage spread attacks and sheer damage output.

The core strategy here is to use Mega Staryu ex’s Jetting Blow to damage both the opponent’s Active Pokémon and one on their bench before cleaning up with Mega Greninja ex’s Mortal Shuriken ability. It’s a clean, straightforward deck strategy that’s only missing a reliable draw engine to be really elite.
Mega Floette ex
While Mega Greninja ex is the stronger option for competitive-minded players looking to grind their way to the top of the ladder, Mega Floette ex offers a rewarding experience for players looking for interesting mechanics. While its Eternity Bloom attack is solid, the deck’s real differentiator comes from its defensive capabilities.

Combine this with the Hero’s Cape this list is running, Wondeorous patch, and plenty of energy acceleration and Mega Floette ex could certainly be a threat in the right player’s hands.
While Chaos Rising will be best noticed for its elite-tier chase that is Special Illustration Mega Greninja ex, it’s a solid set for players, as well. Mega Greninja ex can be played in a variety of ways to combat the meta. While not necessarily going to be the best deck in the format, it’s a solid top tier choice that many will be excited to get their hands on.
