Mega Zeraora ex and More Pitch Black Pokémon Cards Revealed in English

If you blinked on Friday, June 19, 2026 you might have missed it: but in addition to the more widely broadcasted cards recently spoiled in English for the Pokémon Mega Evolution: Pitch Black set, Mega Zeraora ex was spoiled for the very first time in English.

Mega Zeraora ex

The card was revealed via the official Pokémon TCG X account, receiving a mixed response from commenters, some of whom highlighted the card’s beauty while others questioned its competitive viability. Regardless, the bigger picture is pretty exciting: we’re getting Mega Zeraora for the first time ever in the Pokémon TCG and it’s happening in Pitch Black.

The Pokémon Company revealed Mega Excadrill…again?

Mega Excadrill ex

Mega Zeraora ex isn’t the only Mega Pokémon joining the fray in Pitch Black to get an official shoutout this week. In addition, Mega Excadrill got a shoutout via the official Pokémon TCG news blog. And while it’s exciting to get this highly meta-relevant card revealed in English – the deck has been doing well competitively in Japan – it’s a little odd to get it “spoiled” as it was actually leaked back when Pitch Black was originally announced.

Mega Excadrill won’t be getting a Special Illustration Rare print in the set, making this card much more relevant for players than collectors/investors. As I already mentioned, the card is doing very well overseas from a competitive standpoint, making it one of the more hotly anticipated cards in the set from that perspective.

Fossil Pokémon get their own deck

With the Mega Pokémon out of the way, Pokémon also took a moment to highlight a unique new mechanic entering the game in July’s set: one that focuses predominantly on Fossils. Two key cards from this strategy were spoiled this week, including the ancient Relicanth and Fossil Quarry.

Fossil cards are unique within the Pokémon TCG as they appear to be Item cards but actually act a lot like Pokémon. However, historically Fossil decks haven’t seen much (if any) play. Could that be changing thanks to Pitch Black’s new focus on Fossils?

As we know from the already leaked list of cards from Abyss Eye (which Pitch Black is based on), we are getting two unique “Antique” Fossil cards in the upcoming set that interact with both Fossil Quarry and Relicanth. Manage to fill up your bench with these Fossil cards and you’ll be swinging for 160 with Relicanth – a very impressive feat given Relicanth is just a basic, single prize Pokémon.

I could honestly see this deck being very popular at the meme level, and will probably try to climb as high as possible with the deck via Pokémon TCG Live.

Dhelmise and Chi-Yu

Last but not least are Dhelmise and Chi-Yu. Both of these cards were officially revealed via the Pokémon Company this week, although Dhelmise is another somewhat awkward English reveal as we saw the card already in English, although not in its main set print. Dhelmise is one of the Pitch Black Prerelease Promos originally revealed at the beginning of the month. It works with single prize Pokémon that possess the Hide ‘n’ Sneak Ability, and could make for a compelling deck.

Meanwhile, this is the first time we’ve seen Pitch Black’s Chi-Yu. This is a darker take on the Pokémon – literally as lately Chi-Yu has been printed as a fire type in recent sets. Whirling Envy is a solid attack, though, and could work well as an early game setup hitter for decks like Mega Darkrai ex.

English spoilers for Pitch Black continue to get revealed at a steady pace. That will probably only accelerate as we round the corner into July, so make sure you stay tuned for more updates on the blog, and keep an extra close eye on the complete Pitch Black card list that includes all English cards as they are revealed to the public.
