The mighty Mega Rayquaza ex Ultra Rare card was cut from the official Delta Reign card list and will be included in a brand new Pokémon TCG and Dragon Shield collab product instead. Called the Mega Rayquaza ex Premium Tournament Collection, this premium product will be launching on February 12, 2027, and will include the cut Mega Rayquaza ex Ultra Rare as a promo.
This is a big deal for collectors who typically enjoy Ultra Rare full art cards of the set’s frontrunner as one of the top chase cards from the set. This time around, Mega Rayquaza hunters will need to wait a few months to collect every version of their favorite Pokémon.
Admittedly, this does come with some payoff. For example, not only does this premium product come with the Rayquaza Ultra Rare card art as a promo, it also comes with a set of gorgeous sleeves and a Mega Rayquaza-themed deck box.
Getting Mega Rayquaza-themed card sleeves from Dragon Shield is more than just an interesting collab, however: it fixes one of the biggest issues most Pokémon TCG players have with Pokémon sleeves. Although many Pokémon TCG sleeves look great, they typically are low quality, forcing you to use double sleeves if you want to actually play with them.
Given these Mega Rayquaza sleeves are made by Dragon Shield, however, there’s a good chance they will be high quality enough for competitive play. While they’re still so collectible that many will want to double sleeve them anyway, this is a huge step up from regular Pokémon TCG accessories.
In total, the Pokémon TCG: Mega Rayquaza ex Premium Tournament Collection includes:
1 foil promo card featuring Mega Rayquaza ex
3 foil promo cards featuring Zinnia’s Trust, Adventure Lantern, and Mega Rayquaza Cap
2 cards that form one Legendary Summit Stadium
65 card sleeves made by Dragon Shield in a thematic box
A deck box made by Dragon Shield
1 plastic Pokémon coin
8 Pokémon TCG booster packs
A code card for Pokémon TCG Live
This product looks pretty exciting. While it’s a bummer to get one of the most anticipated chase cards cut from Delta Reign, it’ll make a fun collectible for those who manage to get their hands on one.
