Pokémon TCG Pocket is Getting a Team Rocket Set

If so, you can make it double thanks to a new Pokémon TCG Pocket set coming out on Wednesday, August 26, 2026: Team Rocket’s Ambitions.
Thematically, this set looks very similar to the Team Rocket-themed Destined Rivals set released in 2025. This set’s key visual has a familiar look and feel as that legendary, as well as the same Team Rocket Grunts, and even an emphasis on the Three Legendary Birds.
However, my favorite card spoiled for the upcoming set may just be this massively unexpected and simultaneously pretty hilarious look at a Team Rocket’s Grunt riding the back of a Lapras.
Lapras is usually a fairly majestic and benevolent Pokémon. This Lapras appears uncharacteristically mischievous, however. It’s an iconoclastic look from a Pokémon perspective – and it totally adds a layer of fun to these first spoilers from the Team Rocket Pokémon Pocket set.
As a fun side note, you can see Team Rocket’s Articuno circling the sky providing air support above the Lapras’s head.
