Pokémon 30th Celebration: Pikachu Futuristic Rare, Umbreon ex SIR Revealed
When I first wrote my article about the cards spoiled for the Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration set, I mentioned that although Mew ex and Mewtwo ex were the first two new Futuristic Rarity – a new and exclusive card rarity for the Pokémon 30th set – cards revealed, they weren’t necessarily the only ones. Now, thanks to a massive reveal made by the Pokémon Company last night, we know that they are in fact not alone: we will also be getting two distinct Pikachu ex Futuristic Rare cards.
These two different cards fit the “day and night” theme that we’ve seen throughout the Pokémon 30th Celebration set. While clearly possessing the metallic “Futuristic Rare” aesthetic, one Pikachu appears to be operating in broad daylight surrounded by energies, while the other appears in a darker dimension evocative of light. They also match the same stylistic approach as the Mew and the Mewtwo which were previously revealed.
Both of these Pikachu ex Futuristic Rare cards will be available in the newly announced 30th Celebration Futuristic Box: a product that appears similar to our Ultra Premium Collection. The box will be releasing the same day as 30th Celebration releases worldwide: September 16, 2026.
Will we be getting the Pikachu ex Futuristic Rare cards in English?
Right now, the announcement of the Pikachu ex Futuristic Rare cards only officially applies to the Japanese cards releasing in this special box product. However, it’s highly likely that we will be getting these ultra desirable cards in English as part of the broader set release. The bigger unknown is what form they will take. Will they be included as pulls from the 30th Celebration packs, or will they be included in an international equivalent of the Futuristic Box as promos?
While we almost certainly will get these cards in English, how they are released will impact their value on the secondary card market. If they are released within booster packs, they will easily be among the top chase cards from the 30th Celebration set. If they are bundled into an English equivalent to the Futuristic Box, they’ll still likely be worth quite a bit, although how much exactly will vary depending on the exact makeup of the box.
Regardless, this set is so hot that even if they are promos they’ll still likely be worth a lot: anything from this set is going to be in crazy high demand and hard to find.
Umbreon ex, Espeon ex Pokémon 30th Celebration alternate arts revealed
While the biggest Pokémon TCG news today may be the Pikachu ex Futuristic Rare, riding close on its heels is the reveal of two more highly desirable potential chase cards from the set featuring Umbreon and Espeon.
These two hot cards are part of a special deck set that will also see their initial release in Japan. Again, while these two net new cards have yet to be revealed as part of the worldwide Pokémon 30th Celebration release, just like how the Japanese Starter Deck 100 Battle decks were ushered into the international Ascended Heroes set, these two gorgeous Special Illustration Rare cards will likely find their way into 30th Celebration.
Needless to say, assuming these alts make their way into the booster packs, these are going to be massively popular cards, going for somewhere in the ballpark of the similarly illustrated Pikachu ex we got in Ascended Heroes.

Lastly, a few more additional cards were spoiled along with the Umbreon and Espeon. You can see them below, with an additional Zeraora and Victini alt art expected to be revealed soon.
Update: Official English card reveals for Futuristic Rares, Umbreon ex, Espeon ex, and more
Hours after the original Japanese cards were revealed, the Pokémon Company International shared the official English versions of these cards via the official Pokémon TCG X account.
Pikachu Futuristic Rares confirmed for “special 30th Celebration -product
The Pikachu Futuristic Rare English Pokémon cards will indeed be promos for us just like they are in Japan. While we have yet to see what the product is that they’ll be included in or when it will come out, you can bet it’s going to be something big.
Umbreon ex and Espeon ex promo cards revealed in English
While the Espeon ex and Umbreon ex alternate art cards have also been revealed in English, they will neither be included in booster packs nor part of any Espeon vs Umbreon Premium Starter Set as they are in Japan (the official Pokémon X account clearly states this). Instead, these gorgeous Special Illustration Rare promos will likely be included in Eevee-themed boxes which will be massively in demand, much like the Vaporeon ex/Jolteon ex alt art boxes from Evolving Skies.
Eevee and Eeveelution Pokémon 30th Celebration main cards spoiled
Lastly, we also have a look at several new cards spoiled in English. These cards are part of the main Pokémon 30th expansion and will be available in booster packs.
