Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration Expansion Revealed: First Worldwide Release, Card List, Futuristic Rares

At long last, the massively anticipated Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration special set has been officially revealed! Scheduled for a worldwide release on September 16, 2026, this is the first time ever that a Pokémon TCG set will have a global, simultaneous release, with more products scheduled for a rolling release for the remainder of the year.

Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration Booster Pack

It will be an all foil set, meaning every single card you get in packs will contain “stunning” foil treatments. It’s also been confirmed that each pack will contain one of 30 Pikachu cards – each with a unique illustration.

30th Celebration gets first Pokémon TCG worldwide release

In a special video released in the early morning on Monday June 1, 2026, many gorgeous and exciting cards were spoiled directly from the set. You can see them below.

We’re getting a lot more than we bargained for with this massive reveal today. Originally, it was thought that we would simply be getting a reveal for the Pokémon 30th anniversary set in Japan. However, the Pokémon Company International threw us a happy curveball with the revelation that the set release would be the TCG’s first worldwide simultaneous release. Typically, sets release in Japan first. But not with Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration! Instead, we’ll all be getting the chance to get our hands on these cards at the exact same time.

    A new “Futuristic” rarity revealed

In addition to the fan favorite/classic cards revealed above (which include a gorgeous Charizard 30th anniversary reprint of the base set Charizard), a brand new and presumably exclusive rarity will be debuting in PokémonTCG: 30th Celebration: Futuristic rares.

These cards have been heavily teased ahead of this announcement, but get their first official reveal as both Mew and Mewtwo ex cards. These foil cards contain a highly unique “vibrant” foil artwork illustrated by the renowned Japanese artist YOSHIROTTEN. According to the Pokémon Company International: “Each Futuristic rare card will depict Pokémon in striking artwork evocative of hope toward an unknown future.” While only Mew and Mewtwo ex have been revealed for this brand new rarity thus far, we could be getting more than these two potentially as the official press release confirming the rarity doesn’t mention just two cards specifically.

30 Classic Cards make their return in the Pokémon 30th Anniversary

While we’ve had a sneak peek of several of the classic cards that will be included in the set, today marks the first moment in time we’re seeing the officially revealed card images. There will be 30 classic cards making their return in the Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration expansion, and we’ve seen our first two from the set above: a reprint of the Base Set Charizard and the massively popular Pikachu/Zekrom Tag Team card from the Sun and Moon era.

While these are the only two classic cards revealed in today’s trailer, several more were hinted at, including a reprint of the legendary Lugia E-Reader card from Aquapolis.

From the classic cards we’ve seen spoiled in Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration, it appears likely that we’ll be getting classic collection cards that span the many eras from throughout the Pokémon TCGs lifetime. Many of these cards haven’t been seen for a very long time and will likely be highly prized collectibles and very valuable on the secondary card market, despite being reprints.

New “time of day” cards join the Pokémon TCG in 30th Celebration Expansion

Keeping with the 30s theme, the special set will also include brand new Pokémon cards, each featuring Pokémon at different times of both the day and night.

Collectors will want to pull every unique Pikachu card

As already mentioned, each 30th Celebration pack will include one foil Pikachu from throughout the franchise’s history – echoing the special 30th Anniversary log revealed at the start of 2026 that included various Pikachus throughout time.

These Pikachu cards are unique, however, as they will include a special reverse 30th Celebration logo on them instead of the typical stamped promo you see on the rest of the cards. These will be within the card text border much like how the Master Ball and Poké Ball patterns appeared in sets like Prismatic Evolutions and Ascended Heroes.
