Red Inuyasha Deck – quick start guide
Play aggressively: take life early and often before setting up to your bigger plays.
Look to have both Inuyasha and Kagome Raid targets available for your bigger Raid characters.
Fill the board with characters via your Kagome Raid freeplay mechanic.
Strategically switch Inuyasha characters to resting to unlock bolstered effects.
Apply significant pressure via your Inuyasha Raid and your Damage 2 Inuyasha.
Inuyasha and the Switch to Active mechanic
To understand Inuyasha, you have to understand the Activate:Main that’s on almost every Inuyasha character card.
To understand how this mechanic works, let’s look at one of the handiest cards in Red Inuyasha: the fake two-cost.

Assuming you’ve managed to switch your Inuyasha character to resting via a card ability, you can activate his ability that lets him switch himself to active while also unlocking additional bonuses.
Being a fake two-cost that can double as a Raid target and a 3000 BP attacker like this is pretty incredible. But, truth be told, it’s not even the strongest Inuyasha ability that’s like this.
Cards that switch Inuyasha to resting
This mechanic works on both ends – you get bonuses from the Inuyasha when you switch him to active in this way, but you also get nice things when you do the switching to resting.
While there are several of these effects in this deck, the strongest is arguably found built into the three-cost Kikyo.

Kikyo either becomes a 4000 BP character when she switches an Inuyasha to resting, or she can switch an opposing character on your opponent’s front line to resting. It’s an effective way to soften up your opponent’s defenses right before you hit them hard with a Double Attack or Damage 2 from your strongest Inuyasha characters.

Kagome and the free-play
In some ways, Red Inuyasha reminds me of other popular Red decks right now. It has an interesting pseudo-drawback built into it (one that isn’t really much of a drawback) that’s reminiscent of Red Kenshin. It also hits incredibly hard like Red Chainsaw Man.
However one thing that this deck has that neither of the other mentioned red decks can match is this: an incredibly strong built-in free-play.
While decks don’t need to be strictly free-play decks to win, having at least one solid option to play additional characters without expending an AP is a powerful addition to a top tier deck. And Kagome has a very strong add here thanks to her ability to play a three-cost or less Kagome or Inuyasha from your hand as a When Played effect.

Kagome also interacts with your Inuyasha by letting you switch them to resting while boosting another character on the field by 1000 BP – all while making herself impossible to be blocked by characters with 4000 or more BP.
This 1000 BP boost has plenty of uses, but one of my favorites is into the Raidless four-cost Koga who will stick around after being played if he has 5000 BP.
Red Inuyasha and its place in the meta
Clearly, Red Inuyasha has all the makings of a strong deck. It’s sort of like a Red Kenshin deck just with even more power. Could it overtake Kenshin as the most popular Red aggro deck in the meta?
It’s highly possible. While Red Kenshin still has the pushback effect that limits it into some matchups, Red Inuyasha is all power. It has a strong free-play, powerful offensive aggression, a native Damage 2 attacker at just four energy-cost, and the ability to control your opponent’s board by switching key characters to resting (a highly valuable mechanic into the current meta).
The only thing this deck is lacking is removal. But that may not matter given how hard it hits.
So yes – I think Red Inuyasha has a strong chance at overtaking Red Kenshin in the UNION ARENA English meta. It all just depends on how popular it ends up being with players.
