Riftbound Origins Pull Rates: Will You Get a Signature Card?
There’s no other way to say it – Riftbound is hot. Already news has hit how expensive some of the top Riftbound Origins chase cards can be – something which only furthers the hype around the latest hot TCG to grace the shelves at game shops near you. But what exactly are your odds of pulling your top chase? Well thanks to data compiled by gillygabyte on X, we have a solid idea of what your chances are. Stay tuned, stay tight and let’s break it down card rarity by card rarity.
For sake of brevity, we won’t cover the odds of getting commons through rares as they are essentially guaranteed per pack (unless yours are missing some which apparently has been happening to players).
In brief, the less rare card breakdowns go something like this:
7 commons per pack
3 uncommons per pack
2 rares per pack
Epic rare cards are 1 in every 4 packs
Things start getting a lot more interesting once you move up a rung to the Epic rare cards. These are significantly more challenging to pull, of course, with the odds of getting one being one in every four packs. Still, 1/4 odds isn’t too bad and also means that you’re likely to get around six per Riftbound booster box. Despite being reasonably easy to pull (a 25% chance of pulling an epic rare is not bad), epic rare cards can collect some pretty solid value and also have some pretty gorgeous artwork on them.
Alt arts are 1 in 12 packs
Crazy enough, alt arts aren’t all that hard to pull given they are 1 in 12. That’s roughly 2 alts per box, which is pretty crazy given how gorgeous these alts look. I mean just look at this Ahri who looks like she’s about to go trick-or-treating in a wooded glen at night. While odds of getting a specific alt art are significantly less good (1 per two cases), the fact that you can get alternates art with relative ease should make for a fun opening experience for Riftbound products.
Showcase cards are about 1/72 packs
Now we’re getting into the pipe dream area of pulls - the epic showcase cards you can get if you’re really, really lucky. There’s no sugarcoating this one – odds are not good of pulling a Showcase card. However, they’re not as bad as pulling similar hyper rare cards can be in other TCGs. For every pack you open, you may have just a little bit over a 1% chance of hitting a Showcase, odds get a lot better if you open a bunch of packs. So Showcase cards are tough to pull, but not impossible especially when compared to other top chase cards from other TCGs.
Signature cards – 1 in 720 packs
Now for the holy grail of all Riftbound pulls: the epic signature cards. Signature cards are way, way harder to pull than even showcase cards, which helps explain their insane worth on the secondary card market (where they are going for over $1000).
And that makes sense given how insanely hard these cards are to pull. Just to give you an idea of how tough this chase is, even opening an entire booster box gives you only a 5% chance of pulling it. Even pulling the presented number of 720 packs (an insane number of packs) would only give you about a 60% chance of getting a signature.
This is one massive chase – like a Moby Dick of a chase card. Still going to chase it regardless? More power to you! Let me know in the comments below how it goes!
