Asuna Gets a Baseball Makeover in New Official Sword Art Online Artwork

With Echoes of Aincrad releasing today, and the upcoming Sword Art Online film, Integral Domain, recently announced, you’ve seen Asuna in plenty of different looks lately. But here’s one you might not have been expecting: Asuna in baseball-ready gear!

This official illustration was created by abec and adorns the front cover of Dengeki Bunko Super Thank You Fair - Summer All-Stars 2026. It’s a special campaign honoring the many heroines published by Dengeki Bunko.

While Asuna gets front and center placement in the advertisement, in the promo you’ll also find popular characters from hit light novel series like Spice and Wolf, 86, and A Certain Magical Index.

This promotion is exclusive to Japan – running from August-October 2026. Lucky fans in Japan will be able to get a special baseball card featuring their favorite heroine when they make a qualifying purchase from participating bookstores.
