The First D.Gray-man UNION ARENA Cards Officially Revealed
Bandai just officially revealed several new cards from the upcoming D.Gray-man set releasing early 2027 for the English Version.
D.Gray-man will be coming to the UNION ARENA English Version in March, and it’s the second manga-based set to join the arena. Given the success of Kagurabachi amongst fans, this set will undoubtedly be popular for its original manga artwork alone.
Luckily, the card mechanics also look quite intriguing.
Allen Walker Raid
Allen Walker (アレン・ウォーカー)
Card Type: Character
Trait: Black Order (黒の教団)
Cost / Action: 4 Cost / 1 Action
BP: 4000
Generated Energy: 1 Blue
Effects:
- [Raid] (レイド): 〈Allen Walker〉 (You may make this active and move it to the Front L).
- [If on Front L] (フロントLにある場合): Your characters on the Front L other than 〈Allen Walker〉 with an original BP of 3500 or less cannot be chosen by your opponent's [Character / Event Card] effects.
- [On Play] (登場時): If you have 4 or more different card names with [Trait: Black Order] on your field, choose up to 1 character on your opponent's Front L with 3500 BP or less and place it at the bottom of your opponent's deck. If placed at the bottom of the deck, your opponent draws up to 1 card.
Trigger:
- [Raid] (レイド): Add this card to your hand, or if you meet the energy requirements, Raid it.
Allen Walker’s Raid not only looks great, it has a powerful passive ability that grants a strong layer of protection to your front line characters. Additionally, Allen Walker has an interesting removal effect. If there’s a way to reduce the BP of your opponent’s characters, then this card could be quite strong.
Yu Kanda Raid
Yu Kanda (神田 ユウ)

BP: 4000
Generated Energy: 1 Blue
Effects:
- [Raid] (レイド): 〈Yu Kanda〉 (You may make this active and move it to the Front L).
- [On Play] (登場時): During your turn, if you do not have a [Trait: Black Order] other than 〈Yu Kanda〉 on your Front L, you may place 1 card from your hand into your Sideline (場外). If you do, choose up to 1 [Trait: Six Illusions (六幻)] from your Sideline, place cards from the top of your deck into your Sideline equal to the chosen card's required energy, and use the chosen card without paying its AP and ignoring its required energy. The card used by this effect is placed into the Remove Area instead of being placed into the Sideline.
- [On Retire] (退場時): Place 5 cards from the top of your deck into your Sideline, and place this card on the top of your deck.
Trigger:
- [Raid] (レイド): Add this card to your hand, or if you meet the energy requirements, Raid it.
Yu Kanda, meanwhile, has an insane effect. I can’t tell right now if this card is supposed to be in the same deck as Allen Walker, but something tells me that the restrictive nature of the ability makes it a separate strategy. Given the powerful free-play and Raid recursion, this could be a solid mechanic depending on what the rest of the deck looks like.

Lavi (ラビ)

Trigger:

These three cards show a very stable foundation for our revealed Raid characters. Getting a zero-cost characters as the Color Trigger for Yu kanda likely backs up my hypothesis that it will be its own deck. Meanwhile Allen Walker getting the three-cost double energy gen with Nullify Impact is interesting.
D.Gray-man Action Point card
Lastly, we’ve had our first look at a gorgeously illustrated D.Gray-man Action Point card. This card alone does a lot to sell the set, showing how creative game developers can be when drawing from manga rather than anime.
