The First Meowth Cards Revealed for ‘30th Celebration’ are Illustration Rares
Ready for the real start of Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration spoiler season?
Just when I’d thought things had gotten a little too quiet, Pokémon dropped a relative bombshell: two gorgeous Meowth Illustration Rare cards. Fitting with the day and night theme of the set, one takes place during the day where we see Meowth dozing lazily on a balcony.
Alolan Meowth Illustration Rare depicts nighttime fun
Speaking of Meowth from different regions, the other Meowth Illustration Rare card spoiled is from Alola. It’s Alolan Meowth and it’s perched sneakily outside the window in what appears to be the same apartment building.
While the daytime scene shows these nocturnal creatures lazing about, the nighttime view is full of life. Just above Alolan Meowth we can see regular ol’ Kanto Meowth taking off on what looks to be a daring adventure. And in the story below, Galarian Meowth looks like it’s about to get up to some mischief – or maybe just some good nighttime fun!
Of course, both of these cards come with the 30th Anniversary stamp, as do the rest of the cards in the set. We’ve also been granted a first look at the two Meowth cards from the regular set – each with their own unique art as well.
While these cards are fantastic, and the Illustration Rare cards are instant classics, this is really just a taste of what’s to come. 30th Celebration is a set absolutely overflowing with stunning and creative artworks. I’ll be sharing each new card spoiled the moment they come out so keep your eyes peeled!
