UNION ARENA: Purple Osaragi Deck List and Guide

Funny enough, SAKAMOTO DAYS is a pretty strong UNION ARENA set. It’s also proven to be quite popular as well beyond its competitive appeal: products are hot and its SR*** is already one of the most expensive UNION ARENA cards.

And while the Yellow Sakamoto deck is likely the strongest, my favorite deck is actually the Purple Osaragi Deck. Below, I’ll walk you through how this unique deck works and my own build for the strategy.

All at the cost of an extra draw

The Purple Osaragi deck brings a brand new mechanic into UNION ARENA: one that functions around taking an extra draw. Essentially, you have a host of abilities that activate if you’ve taken an extra draw that turn. And when we say “extra draw” in this context, we mean an AP-draw that you’ve chosen to take at the start of your turn.

While that may sound like a high cost to pay, you have several cards that make the tradeoff a pure benefit. The strongest of which is the four-cost Osaragi herself.

Just having Osaragi on the front line is a huge boost to this deck’s strategy. Not only will you get a free draw just by having her in play, you’ll also be unlocking your myriad benefits in the process.

However, she’s not the only card aimed at making this deck function well. The five-cost Shishiba Raid also helps with this strategy and then some.

Not only can you use Shishiba to get ahead with free-plays from the hand, he makes it easier for you to take an AP draw as you’ll be re-standing that AP plus the AP you use to play him. That’s a pretty strong incentive.

Of course, this all comes to a head via the five-cost Osaragi – a character who is so strong she’s scary.

At just five energy-cost, Osaragi is buffing to a 5000 BP Damage 2 Impact 1 character that lets you draw a card when attacking. That’s really, really good considering all you need to do to unlock this power is having taken an extra draw this turn.

Unlock strong removal via Takamura

Takamura is as strong in the game as he is in the show. While you will have to have taken an AP draw during your turn to play him (no small matter given he is a two-AP character), his insane power levels make this a reasonable trade-off. He comes in active at 5000 BP, and sidelines ANYTHING on your opponent’s front line or site on their energy line. It’s an insanely powerful removal play at just six energy.

Typically reaching up to six energy for a bonus character would be a chore in a deck like this, but that’s why you have the three-cost Shishiba.

Shishiba is your Takamura-playing multi-purpose tool. Use him to boost up your energy line to find that sixth energy without having to field more double energy-generating characters.

Ultimately, this Purple Osaragi deck is really, really strong. Its only limitation is the reliance on taking an extra draw. For all the effects you have that make doing so more feasible, you will still run into turns where it’s just not optimal to take that extra draw despite how many abilities it unlocks.

However, manage to find the right tempo, and this deck can absolutely compete into even the strongest decks in the UNION ARENA meta.
