A Stamped Archeops Promo is Available at the Pokémon Fossil Museum
You may have heard of the Van Gogh Pikachu craze. But are you ready for the Archeops round two? That appears likely given what’s just been revealed today: a special Archeops stamped promo will be available for those with a ticket at the Pokémon Fossil Museum in Chicago.
While this card is already hitting online marketplaces like eBay for exorbitant amounts, the really cool story here is actually the Pokémon Fossil Museum itself. While I have yet to go (I’ve reached out to the museum to see if I can go – fingers crossed), the pictures I’ve seen online look seriously cool.
There are Pokémon bones (like the above Tyrunt/Tyrantrum), fossil Pokémon (like the below Omastar), and more to see in this one-of-a-kind exhibit.
Apparently, this stint in the Field Museum in Chicago is the first time this exhibit has been seen outside of Japan where it debuted in 2021. Lest you think it’s all about the Pokémon, however – think again. Famous Pokémon Professors will be featured here as well. Beyond Pokémon Fossils, fossils of real animals are also on display, showing the common ground between Pokémon and the many real-world creatures on which they were based.
While the exhibit will be open for just a little under a year, it’s likely going to be quite tricky to get in. Already you have to wait in line just to get a ticket. Of course, news of the promo doesn’t exactly help in this regard as that promo will be heavily sought after for its exclusively and value. Regardless, it’s exciting to have something this cool and this unique to explore the world of Pokémon!
Pokémon Fossil Museum TCG exclusives
Of course, whenever there’s Pokémon, there’s likely to be merch! Beyond the fossils, the Pokémon and even the promo, guests will have the opportunity to purchase up to five items per ticket. And if I’m being honest, these items look pretty awesome: including a Pokémon Fossil binder, Pokémon TCG playmat, and even a Pikachu stuffie!
