UNION ARENA: Chainsaw Man Panic! Sales Canceled After Unruly Crowd

By now we’re used to fights breaking out over Pokémon. But for UNION ARENA?

UNION ARENA line in Japan gets unruly, forces sales cancelation

Social media posts and videos surfaced all over X last night of large crowds getting out of hand attempting to bag the latest UNION ARENA set drops, including the highly anticipated Chainsaw Man (getting an English version release in July, 2026) and the right now Asia exclusive Eminence in Shadow.

For North America-based UNION ARENA players, seeing a scene like this might come off as a little shocking. While by now we’ve seen our fair share of hype for sets, massive crowds coalescing over the chance to bag products is still not the norm. However, with this kind of crazy hype going on overseas in Japan, perhaps we can expect the same kind of insanity this summer when Chainsaw Man drops.

The behavior of this massive, unruly crowd was so bad, however, that sales had to be halted at the official Bandai card shop that the above video took place at.

UNION ARENA: Chainsaw Man hype already hitting North America

While we may not be likely to see massive crowds jostling over spots in line to bag products when the set comes out, Chainsaw Man is already showing signs of being a massively hyped set. Indeed, it could end up being even more hyped than what we saw with Solo Leveling. Based on very early, confirmed market data on TCGPlayer, Chainsaw Man Booster Boxes are nearing $200 – a precedent that’s only ever been set by Solo Leveling before.

Why Chainsaw Man is such a hyped set

As was the case with Solo Leveling, excitement for this set is likely being driven by a combination of opportunistic buyers (often labeled “scalpers), popularity of the IP (Chainsaw Man had a very successful film launch just last year), and the sheer quality of the cards you can get in these packs.

Despite Chainsaw Man cards not even being spoiled yet in English, cards from the Japanese set have been getting shared broadly online, and they look pretty fantastic.

Serialized, hand-signed APs drive increased buying frenzy

Lastly, just like with Solo Leveling, the serialized, hand-signed APs from Chainsaw Man are adding fuel to the fire, the same way they did with Solo Leveling. Although hand-signed APs have not been confirmed for Chainsaw Man in the UNION ARENA English Version yet, many are anticipating getting them thanks to their inclusion in the Japanese set.

Importantly, while we don’t know whether or not hand-signed APs will be part of the set when it makes its North America debut, we will still for certain be getting the serialized APs one way or another. And even without the hand-signatures these will still likely be worth over $2000.

Stay tuned for more updates and news regarding UNION ARENA and the Chainsaw Man release!
