Groudon Illustration Rare Revealed in English Ahead of Delta Reign
One of the most anticipated chase cards from the upcoming Pokémon TCG set, Delta Reign (releasing on November 6, 2026) was just officially revealed in English.
Apart from being an exciting Illustration Rare card, fans have high hopes for this particular secret rare card thanks to its similarity to another somewhat legendary Groudon card from a recent Pokémon TCG set.
The Delta Reign Groudon is similar to a fan favorite
Ever since the card was first revealed when Storm Emeralda released in Japan, fans have been comparing it to another recent Groudon that released during the Scarlet & Violet era as part of the Paradox Rift set. And that’s a big deal given the Groudon Illustration Rare from that set is one of the defining Illustration Rare chase cards of its entire series.

While its current market price is impressive for any Illustration Rare, it peaked over the past year at a high of $126. It’s one of the reasons that Paradox Rift has enjoyed something of a cult following ever since it released three years ago in 2023.
Will this Groudon be worth as much as the Groudon from Paradox Rift?
Despite the comparisons, they seem (at least right now) largely coincidental. Early market signs for the Japanese version of the newly revealed card point to a modest market price.

Will that price translate better to the English set when Delta Reign officially releases? We’ll have to wait and see. But what does seem apparent is that it’s unlikely to be worth the same kind of value as its Paradox Rift cousin. At least right away.
