Jessie and James Featured on a Pokémon Card For the First Time in Five Years
Team Rocket’s Ambition turns out to be more than a Team Rocket-themed Pokémon TCG set: it marks the return of Jessie and James to a Pokémon TCG card (physical or digital) for the first time in five years.
Cleverly concealed within the background of an Immersive Art “Team Rocket’s Master Plan” Supporter card, Jessie and James can clearly be seen running away from what looks like an alarm. No doubt they are up to no good as always.
Right next door, however, a Magmar is calmly relaxing, seemingly unaware of the hijinks Jessie and James are up to.
Jessie and James aren’t the only exciting, hidden elements within the Team Rocket’s Master Plan Immersive Art card. When was the last time Jessie and James were featured on a new Pokémon card?
Technically, Jessie and James had a card printed in 2021 as part of the 25th anniversary Pokémon TCG set: Celebrations. It wasn’t a brand-new card, however: it was a reprint of the classic “Here Comes Team Rocket” Trainer card featuring the dynamic duo and their trusty sidekick, Meowth.

Could Jessie and James be returning again soon?
While many have theorized that Jessie and James have seen their final days in the Pokémon TCG just as they have in the anime, this Easter Egg inclusion in a brand new Pokémon TCG Pocket set suggests maybe we haven’t seen the last of the original Team Rocket.
While they weren’t featured in last year’s Team Rocket-themed Destined Rivals, who’s to say they won’t make their way into a physical card sooner or later – whether as a cleverly disguised Easter Egg, or as a full card named after them.
Regardless of what happens, you can bet that if they do get a physical card someday, it will drive both serious excitement and demand.
