Classic Collection Magikarp, Ditto, and More Revealed for Pokémon 30th
Who doesn’t love Magikarp?
One of Pokémon 30th’s most anticipated Classic Collection cards has been officially confirmed: it’s the reprint of the Magikarp Illustration Rare originally released in Paldea Evolved. Meanwhile, more cards have been revealed for the main set for the first time, including Ditto, Azumarill, Hydreigon, Zweilous, and Toxtricity. Get these and more from 30th Celebration products and booster packs when the set releases worldwide on September 16, 2026.
Magikarp is a reprint of a cult classic
If you regularly follow my Pokémon TCG market guides, you’ll know that modern Pokémon sets typically have at least one “sleeper” IR chase. It’s become such a reliable rule that you almost can’t call them “sleepers” anymore. For Ascended Heroes it was Psyduck. For Paldea Evolved, it was this Magikarp illustrated by fan-favorite Shinji Kanda.
Arguably, it was the insane hype seen for this seemingly nondescript Magikarp IR that started the trend. Now, collectors and investors purposefully look for the next big IR hit from a set. Few, however, do it as well as the original IR chase Magikarp. And that legendary achievement is immortalized in this Classic Collection card.
Ditto transforms 30th Celebration
It wouldn’t be 30th Celebration without Ditto! One of the original 151 Pokémon, Ditto is always a hit thanks to its unique shapeshifting/transformation abilities. True to form, this Ditto’s attack lets it switch itself with any Basic Pokémon from your deck.
While this is the first time we’ve seen this Ditto from the main set, we have seen the same card before, only as a promo that’s included in the special Ditto Premium Collection product.
