Mega Gardevoir ex Deck List and How to Play

Mega Gardevoir ex will likely be the strongest deck coming out of the highly anticipated Mega Evolution set. In this deck list and guide, we’ll be looking at how to build and play Mega Gardevoir ex

Mega Gardevoir ex is a powerful new attacker, bringing incredible new potential into the Gardevoir ex deck build.

While I don’t see Overflowing Wishes being a big game changer for the Gardevoir ex deck archetype, Mega Symphonia certainly has potential to be. It pairs incredibly well with the Gardevoir ex from Scarlet and Violet, giving you an easy way to accelerate psychic energy and then partnering it with an attack that has no limit.

It also gives the Gardevoir ex deck access to a beafy situational attacker, something which it’s largely lacked in recent iterations.

Mega Gardevoir ex deck quick start guide

  1. Fill your bench with Ralts and other Psychic type Pokemon so you can quickly evolve your Gardevoir ex and Mega Gardevoir ex.

  2. If going second, use TM Evolution to quickly evolve Pokemon.

  3. Prioritize evolving your Gardevoir ex first – you’ll need it to power up your Mega Gardevoir’s strongest attack.

  4. Use the power of Mystery Garden to draw as many cards as possible while filling your discard with Psychic energy that you can then accelerate via Psychic Embrace.

  5. With Psychic Embrace, power up your toolbox of Psychic attackers, including Mega Gardevoir ex to take exceptionally big knockouts.

  6. Spread damage around with Munkidori’s “Adrena Brain ability. Combine that with “Psychic Embrace” to never run out of spare damage to spread around.

More new cards coming to Gardevoir ex

While Gardevoir ex and its unparalleled “Psychic Embrace” is still this deck’s strongest card, several new cards enter the strategy with Mega Evolution to help enhance this strategy.

We’ve already looked at the biggest new card – Mega Gardevoir ex – but there’s more!

Mystery Garden

As exciting as it is to get a Mega Gardevoir ex, Mystery Garden is arguably the strongest new card coming into the strategy with the new set. Mystery Garden is a huge, huge boon to any Psychic deck out there. And as the strongest Psychic deck by far in the the game, Gardevoir ex is perfectly positioned to gain its full advantage.

As this deck only runs Psychic type Pokemon, you could fairly easily have six Psychic Pokemon in play when you use Mystery Garden’s powerful effect. Discarding an energy from hand simply helps give you more targets to accelerate with Psychic Embrace, while letting you replenish your hand up to six total cards.

Ralts and Kirlia

Far less directly impactful than the Mystery Garden, we still are getting two new evolution targets for Gardevoir ex in the form of Ralts and Kirlia. Neither of these are groundbreaking in and of themselves, but the Ralts could be used to draw a card in a tight spot.

Lillie’s Determination

Lillie’s Determination is a powerful new draw supporter entering the Pokemon TCG with Mega Evolution. Play this card with six prizes left and you can reshuffle your entire hand and draw until you have eight. That’s a very, very strong draw but also relatively situational. You’ll be wanting to play this supporter directly after your opponent takes their first knockout.

Gardevoir ex has proven itself as one of the longest standing and strongest contenders in the Pokemon TCG meta. With Mega Evolution, however, the deck feels stronger ever. Backed by a powerful new draw engine and a high end attacker capable of taking OHKO against three-prize Pokemon, we have not seen the end of Gardevor ex’s success!
