Mega Lucario ex Deck List and Guide

Mega Lucario ex is here, and Lucario fans everywhere are applauding. Honestly, this deck looks pretty good, and might be one of the strongest fighting type decks we’ve seen in a while. Below, we’ll be looking at an early iteration of this deck – one that leverages the strongest new cards in Mega Evolution – ones that bring massive power to fighting types.

Breaking down Mega Lucario ex

First, let’s break down Mega Lucario ex. This guy’s seriously tough, weighing in at 340 HP for only a Stage 1. But the really scary thing about this guy is its Mega Brave attack – an attack that dishes out 270 damage. That 270 damage can be boosted to much greater numbers when combined with the powerful new fighting-focused item: Premium Power Pro.

I wouldn’t underestimate this handy item: it reminds me a good deal of the Power Tablet item Mew VMAX had access to before it rotated out of the meta. That item alone added incredible versatility to Mew VMAX, helping make it one of the strongest decks of all time.

While at base power, Mega Brave can OHKO basic Pokemon ex and even stage 1 Pokemon ex, when fully powered up with all of your Premium Power Pro Lucario is even capable of knocking out the mighty Mega Venusaur ex.

The Solrock/Lunatone combo unlocks reliable draw

Lunatone is the ideal Pokemon to pair with your Mega Lucario ex. Simply discard a basic fighting energy and you can draw three cards. Of course, you’ll need Solrock in play to activate “Lunar Cycle.” But Solrock is no slouch either, complete with an early game attack that is handy to gain an upper-hand in the prize trade.

Hariyama brings additional gust

While Hariyama’s Wild Press is an impressive attack (and one that can be powered up with Mega Lucario’s Aura Jab), Hariyama’s real selling point is its Sumo Catcher. This is a very, very impressive ability – basically a built-in Boss’s Orders, letting you take ideal attacks against vulnerable Pokemon.

Fighting Gong is a powerful tool for fighting decks

Finally, there’s Fighting Gong. Assuming we get this card when the English Mega Evolution set launches, it’s going to be a powerful tool in any fighting deck’s arsenal. Being able to search out any basic fighting type Pokemon or energy is incredible utility baked into a single card, letting you unlock solid consistency in a way few other decks can.

Mega Lucario ex looks to be a very promising deck. Will it be a top tier fighting type deck? Hopefully! With incredible attack power, lots of support, and one of the most popular attackers in the set, Mega Lucario ex is certainly a top Mega Evolution deck to watch!
