Pikachu is playing a huge role in the Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration, releasing worldwide on September 16, 2026. New Pikachu ex, Futuristic Rares, and most uniquely, a special collection of 30 unique Pikachu cards – each with a special “fireworks” foil pattern across the entire card – add excitement to the already monumental set.

Pikachu #1 pays homage to a legendary Pokémon artist

Before diving into the full collection, the most exciting Pikachu revealed so far is the #1 in the special Pikachu collection. This Pikachu was illustrated by legendary Pokémon artist Ken Sugimori himself.

Ken Sugimori is the legendary artist behind the original 151 Pokémon. Friend of Pokémon’s creator, Satoshi Tajiri, Ken has long been involved with the Pokémon Company, and has illustrated some of the most iconic Pokémon cards of all time.
