Sword Art Online Sugary Days Spoilers Tease Fans With Stunning New Artwork
A brand new Sword Art Online light novel is about to release in August, and already never-before-seen artworks from one of Kirito and Asuna’s most personal chapters are making waves online.
Called Sugary Days, this light novel will include a story that’s never been brought to life like this before, from one of the franchise’s most beloved arcs.

Above is the official cover for the Sugary Days novel that will be published by Dengeki Bunko in Japan. Right now, there’s no announcement that the book will get an English release, although many are calling for Yen Press to publish it to North American markets.
As diehard Sword Art Online fans will likely be able to tell from the cover, the book will take place during Asuna and Kirito’s honeymoon from the Aincrad days.
Although it’s the first time the story has ever been printed as a light novel, the story has existed in various different formats before, so many fans in Japan have read various stories from the book that were released in special SAO Blu-rays, while Western fans have read fan translations.

While the basic concept for the Sugary Days light novel cover has been revealed for a few weeks, as of a recent broadcast promoting the book, the official light novel illustrations have been revealed, and they’re driving fans crazy.

Sword Art Online fans are going absolutely crazy for the above picture of Asuna and Kirito reclining together in the wooden rocking chair: a piece of furniture that’s important to the couple and plays an important role in both Sugary Days as well as later in Unital Ring.

While not explicit, Sugary Days is known for sharing more romantic details between Asuna and Kirito than is seen in either the anime or the original light novels on which the anime is based.
From what has been shared so far, Sugary Days looks like it will be a mega-hit for Sword Art Online fans. Let’s just hope it gets published in English soon so we can enjoy it stateside, too!
