The 5 Most Expensive Evangelion UNION ARENA Cards
Evangelion has been a massive set for UNION ARENA. Strong, highly collectible, and overall just a lot of fun, this set boasts several highly valuable cards. Below, let’s look at the most expensive UNION ARENA: Evangelion cards of them all.
#1 Evangelion Test Type-01 Pseudo DMS Phase SR***
Listing price: $900+
The only card yet to have verified sales data on TCGPlayer so far is the SR***. However, given how expensive the other top chase cards in this set are going for, it’s likely that the SR*** will be up their either at the top, or next to the top. Of course, Evangelion is a set with serialized cards – the high value chase will really be the serialized version of the SR***. Serialized UNION ARENA cards typically fetch several thousands of dollars on the secondary card market.
#2 Rei Ayanami
Market price: $503
I’m not gonna lie – I’m a little surprised to see this card at the number one spot among the SR** Evangelion cards. I didn’t know Rei was so popular, and would have assumed the Asuka SR** would be the most expensive of its rarity. However, this Rei does look really cool, and it’s price tag makes it among the more valuable of all UNION ARENA cards.
#3 Asuka Shikinami Langley SR**
Market price: $383
This card has a little too much fan service for my personal taste, but still is admittedly a dramatically impressive card. Well composed and capturing a vital point of Asuka’s character development from the Evangelion Rebuild films, it’s a worthy chase that I see maintaining value well past the initial Evangelion hype phase.
#4 Evangelion Test Type-01 Pseudo DMS Phase SR**
Market price: $350.61
Blink and you might miss the difference between this card and the SR***. The rarer and more valuable version of this card may be the more exciting, but this card has many of the same highlights, making it another top chase from this set, and the only SR** in the top five that’s not one of the girls.
#5 Mari Makinami Illustrious – SR**
Market price: $331
Mari is a movie-exclusive character who admittedly is pretty cool. Although a bit of an odd ball character at times, she’s got a solid can-do attitude that helps her stand out in an overwhelmingly dark world like that of the world of Evangelion. This card is a core card in the Yellow Evangelion deck that’s very popular among competitive UNION ARENA players. However, she’s the least expensive of the Yellow Eva girls – not really surprising as she does play more of a supporting role to the more established characters of Rei and Asuka.
