Three Perfect Order Special Illustration Rare Pokemon Cards Were Revealed for the First Time
Spoiler season for the Perfect Order English cards are picking up pace as we head closer to the March 27, 2026 release date. To day, the first three Perfect Order Special Illustration Rare cards were revealed, and they’re bound to be mega chase cards for the set.
While we’ve known about these cards already from their sister Japanese set, Nullifying Zero, this is the first time we’re getting a glimpse at these artworks as part of the Perfect Order set in English.
The three Special Illustratoin Rare cards revealed – the highest form of card rarity in the current Pokemon TCG era outside of Mega Hyper Rare and as such often among the most valuable – were for Mega Zygarde ex, Meowth ex, and
Mega Zygarde ex – Special Illustration Rare
The most exhilarating of the three SIRs revealed today is this gorgeous Mega Zygarde ex. Zygarde is a Pokemon intimately associated with the Kalos region, making it a fitting Pokemon to head this set. Like Mega Pokemon chase cards before it including Mega Dragonite and Mega Charizard X, Mega Zygarde ex has its many forms pictured behind it as this massively strong Pokemon prepares itself for battle amidst a swirl of colors reminiscent of some of the best action sequences from the Pokemon XYZ era of the show.
Meowth ex – Special Illustration Rare
The Meowth ex SIR from Perfect Order was also revealed. This card goes for a more fun and domestic look befitting the Pokemon. Indeed, with the vibrant pop art in the background, I could see this food-filled portrait of Meowth fitting in at my local Panera were it a painting instead of a valuable Pokemon card.
Rosa’s Encouragement – Special Illustration Rare
Rosa’s Encouragement’s illustration isn’t just about eating ice cream – this artwork feels like something you would find in a Fifty’s style chocolate shop. It’s not a card that I see being a huge chase for players however, despite how fitting the artwork and the subject matter are to one another.
Exciting Perfect Order Illustration Rare cards were spoiled as well
It’s not just these fabulous Special Illustration Rare cards getting leaked in anticipation of release day, however. Several gorgeous Illustration Rare cards were spoiled for the first time, including a Clefairy and an Aurorus.
Aurorus gets major props for being a dinosaur Pokemon – something which won’t be lost on many collectors. However, Clefairy to me is the sleeper money card of Perfect Order, the same way Psyduck from Ascended Heroes continues to defy odds in regards to its market price on the secondary card market. I could see this resplendent Clefairy Illustration Rare becoming one of the top chase cards of the set despite its lesser value.
Those were the big alt art cards revealed today. Stay tuned for more major Perfect Order card reveals as we get closer to release day and don’t forget to see all of the cards revealed in English so far via my spoiler guide!
