Phantasmal Flames English Spoilers and Card List
Just when you thought the Pokemon TCG couldn’t get any bigger we get this: Phantasmal Flames releasing on November 14, 2025 and possibly the very biggest set of the entire year.
Why? Well we’ve had truly fantastic sets this year ranging from the blockbuster Prismatic Evolutions, to the large Mega Evolution set that established a new era for the game that set both players and collectors into a frenzy.
But in this case, Pokemon may have just saved the best for last for 2025, with the release of Phantasmal Flames – a pretty insane, Charizard focused set to close out the year. Below, we’ll be looking at each and every Phantasmal Flame card revealed in English to date. Make sure to come back often as I’ll be updating this guide with each card that gets leaked as we get closer to the release date.
Phantasmal Flames set details

New Mega Pokemon ex cards revealed in Phantasmal Flames
We are getting several new Mega Pokemon ex cards added to the Pokemon TCG in Phantasmal Flames. Of course, the most noteworthy of them all is also one of Pokemon’s most bankable characters: Charizard X ex.
Mega Charizard X ex
The real star of the Phantasmal Flame show is Mega Charizard X ex. A strong attacker, Mega Charizard X ex is one of the coolest Pokemon ever. As cool as Charizard is, there’s no denying that the black and blue color pallette is the ideal way to extend the evolution line into something bold, exciting, and even daring.
Phantasmal Flames capitalizes on this Pokemon not seen in the Pokemon TCG for far too long, and the result is anticipation the likes of which hasn’t been seen since perhaps the times of Prismatic Evolutions.
While the set does have more to offer than its main character, Mega Charizard X remains the main draw of this set, and to that end we are going to get multiple different versions and rarity of this card, including a Mega Hyper rare gold card, an insanely brilliant Special Illustration Rare, and even an impressive Ultra Rare print. While Mega Charizard X in all of its forms will undoubtedly top the list of most expensive Phantasmal Flames cards, we’ll have to wait a little longer to reveal those cards in English as they have not (officially) surfaced yet on online.
Mega Sharpedo ex
Mega Sharpedo ex was officially revealed by the Pokemon Company thanks to its inclusion in the Phantasmal Flames Battle Pass deck. Mega Sharpedo should be an attractive attacker thanks its combo of high HP and powerful, no frills attack that does 270 damage when Sharpedo has damage counters on it. It could work well in its own deck as the Battle Pass recommends, or combined with a Dark Box strategy with Mega Gengar ex.
Mega Gengar ex
Mega Gengar ex should also be another popular Pokemon from this set, although not nearly on the level of Mega Charizard X ex. Additionally, we aren’t likely to be getting an SIR of Mega Gengar ex, which is something of a bummer given how actually popular Gengar tends to be.
Still, players will be glad that Mega Gengar ex is part of one of the strongest Phantasmal Flames decks, and will even be getting a prebuilt Mega Battle deck of its own releasing shortly before the main set releases.
Mega Diance ex
Mega Diance ex is the other Mega Pokemon ex also getting its own Mega Battle deck, just like Gengar. However, clearly Diance ex is better as a supporting Pokemon than as a main attacker. It works particularly well when paired with the dominant Gardevoir ex engine, acting as both offense and defense for that established meta staple.
Mega Lopunny ex
While Mega Lopunny is far from the strongest Pokemon released in the Mega Evolutions era so far, it’s Gale Thrust attack is often a popular one for players looking for aggressive strategies rather than setting up for big one hit knockouts.
Phantasmal Flames Single Prize Pokemon
While the Mega Pokemon ex are sure to draw the most attention in these new sets, we do also have a sneak peak at some of the more regular, single prize Pokemon that make up much of the main set.
Moltres
The latest Moltres added to the TCG is also quite strong, swinging for 110 damage into Pokemon ex, making it the ideal Pokemon to soften up bigger Mega Pokemon ex or to finish them off in a pinch.
Reshiram
Reshiram’s Burning Flare attack could be a powerful partner to decks running the Oricario ex we should be getting in Phantasmal Flames – letting you add as many fire energies as you want per turn. Swinging from 240 via a basic single Prize Pokemon is nothing to turn your nose up at, even if the energy cost requirement is quite high.
Alcremie
Alcremie was spoiled thanks to its inclusion in the Mega Battle deck. Its Sweet Circle attack is actually pretty decent for a single prize attacker – although having to evolve it to do 120 max damage doesn’t feel the greatest.
Gligar
Gliscor
Seviper
Another Mega Battle deck staple, Seviper is arguably one of the strongest single prize attackers out there, swinging for an insane max damage output if you have a dark Mega Pokemon in play, making it indispensable in the upcoming dark box decks.
Toxtricity
Speaking of Mega Battle cards, Toxtricity plays a key role in that new deck archetype by enabling you to easily accelerate energy onto your dark type Pokemon.
Krookodile
Despite Vengeful Fang actually being a pretty solid attack, it’s a tall order to evolve a Stage 2 single prize Pokemon just for 220 damage. However, it could work its way into some Dark Box decks that really like the idea of enabling a favorable prize trade in this way.
Togedemaru
There’s not much to say here other than Togedemaru was revealed via IGN, along with the very cute Illustration Rare version of the card (which we’ll look at in a moment).
Jigglypuff
This rather cute Jigglypuff was leaked via the official Pokemon TCG X account.
Phantasmal Flames Trainer Cards
We’re getting some very cool trainer cards coming out with Phantasmal Flames that will bolster specific types of Pokemon. Check them out below.
Blowtorch
Blowtorch is actually a super cool card that’s going to bring significant utility to decks that can run a significant number of basic fire energies. Having the option to discard a Pokemon Tool, Special Energy, or Stadium by just discarding a fire energy is pretty incredible, letting you deal with a plethora of different threats with only one card. This is going to be a must in Ceruledge ex decks that love to discard energies anyways, and could even see wider play among non fire type decks that just want to take advantage of such a powerful card.
Dawn
Dawn is a powerful supporter for evolution decks, letting you bring your entire evolution line into your hand. As effective as she may be in decks, I really can’t wait to share her SIR version in English as it may be one of the most idyllic SIR trainer cards of modern times.
Firebreather
Firebreather lends some insane support for fire type decks, letting you search your deck for seven basic fire energies from your deck. Phantasmal Flames is really living up to its name with all the support for fire type strategies in it.
Wondrous Patch
In case you are worried Phantasmal Flames is only bringing with it goodies exclusively for fire type decks – be not afraid! Behold – Wondrous Patch. This card is going to be absolutely insane into psychic decks, and could partner especially well with Mega Gardevoir ex, giving it an easy and reliable way to accelerate energies onto Pokemon on the bench.
Grimsley’s Move
Grimsley’s Move is an interesting supporter, especially given the sheer number of support we’re getting in Phantasmal Flames for dark type Pokemon. Will it be enough, though, to actually get players to run it? I could see it being a viable option if not for it not being playable on your first turn.
Phantasmal Flames Secret Rare Cards
We’ve not seen many Phantasmal Flames secret rare cards revealed in English yet, but we’ll go over those that we have seen, starting with the biggest chase from the set which was leaked online.
Mega Charizard X ex – Mega Hyper Rare
This Mega Charizard X ex Mega Hyper Rare card was shared by a fan online and then included in an article by PokeBeach. While not an official reveal, the card looks legit and we’ve seen the same card revealed in Japanese already, meaning we’re not surprised to find that the international version also has this incredible chase card for Mega Charizard X ex the way Mega Evolution had the same for Mega Gardevoir and Lucario.
Mega Charizard ex – Special Illustration Rare
Another spoiler that’s really more of a leak than a spoiler: Mega Charizard X ex SIR. Some early rumors indicate that the Charizard SIR may be worth even more than the Mega Hyper Rare, despite the fact that the former is outselling the later from Japan’s sister set. However things wind-up once Phantasmal Flames releases, one thing is quite clear: this gorgeous and unique take on Mega Charizard X ex is going to be one for the history books, and quite likely one of the most valuable Charizard cards of all time.
Since originally adding Mega Charizard ex to this card list, however, the Pokemon Company has officially revealed the card via the official Pokemon TCG X account for the UK.
Mega Heracross ex Ultra Rare
While we’re unlikely to get an SIR for Mega Heracross ex, the above Ultra Rare is pretty solid artwork for the memorable bug type Pokemon that Ash catches in the anime. His Juggernaut Horn is fairly attractive, letting you swing back the damage that your opponent dealt out to you the previous turn back at them, while Mountain Ramming could be an interesting tech choice to thin out your opponent’s deck in a stall situation.
The above card was officially leaked by the official Pokemon TCG X account via a pretty epic teaser trailer that sees Mega Heracross’s card artwork come to life!
Meowth – Illustration Rare
This very cool Meowth Illustration Rare card is one many thought we would get included in a Pokemon set earlier this year given the fact it came out in Japan some time ago. However, we’re now finally getting this card in Phantasmal Flames, as confirmed by a pack opening done by someone who found a stray Phantasmal Flames booster in a bundle from Walmart.
Meowth is likely to be up there as one of the most expensive Illustration Rare cards in Phantasmal Flames, making it a worthy chase in its own right.
Togedemaru – Special Illustration Rare
This cute card is the very first secret rare card from Phantasmal Flames officially revealed via the Pokemon Company via IGN. There’s not a ton to say about the card other than it’s a great artwork set in a pastoral setting complete with two very cute Pokemon.
Paldean Wooper
Simple yet serene, Paldean Wooper is a fun Illustration Rare to chase.
Phantasmal Flames promo cards
Several promo cards have been revealed for Phantasmal Flames via the Pokemon company. Let’s take a look at these officially revealed cards below.
Genesect
Starting things out with the Genesect. This card bears the Mega Evolution stamps because it is a version of the card that will be given out at select stores. However, the unstamped version will also be available in Phantasmal Flames, and stands out as yet another powerful Pokemon for grass decks. While “Bug’s Cannon” may not seem super impressive at first, combine it with the Megnanium we got in Mega Evolution (one that counts every grass energy as two energy) and it starts to look a lot more formidable. Certainly a solid late game bench sniper for grass builds looking for added utility.
Suicune and Reshiram retail promos
In addition to Genesect, we’ll also be getting Suicune and Reshiram as store promos. For more info on where you can get them, check out Pokemon’s official article.
Mega Charizard X ex promo
The Pokemon Company is not missing any steps when it comes to Mega Charizard X. Not only is this card the main draw for collectors to crack Phantasmal Flames packs, you can also get this exclusive and admittedly very cool promo from purchasing the Mega Charizard X ex Ultra-Premium Collection coming out in November, 2025.
Prerelease promos
The Pokemon Company has revealed the four promos that you can get from Phantasmal Flames Build and Battle decks – available at local game stores for prerelease events. Learn more about these Phantasmal Flames prerelease promos and learn which combos are most likely to lead you to success!
Each of the above four promos will also be available int he main Phantasmal Flames set, albeit without the stamp.
Charcadet ETB promo
ETB promos are always fun. They’re guaranteed alt arts of Pokemon from the main set, and some can be quite good. This time around we’re getting the Charcadet as Phantasmal Flames ETB promo. Above its pictured in both its regular ETB form as well as with the Pokemon Center stamp which can be aquired via the special Pokemon Center edition ETBs.
Phantasmal Flames international spoilers
In additional to a solid batch of English spoilers getting their revealed, several cards have been revealed via news outlets in Europe.
While there’s nothing crazy here that’s not included in the Japanese version of the set (Inferno X), it’s really cool to see this gorgeous Zacian Illustration Rare. Honestly this artwork and coloring is very gorgeous and I could see many collectors overlooking it given the Mega Charizard X chase cards in the set. But the card itself looks like something out of a 50’s Disney film like Sleeping Beauty. It’s a gorgeous treatment for this memorable Pokemon, and I can’t wait for the English version to be revealed, as well.
Phantasmal Flames products
Additionally, the full Phantasmal Flames product lineup has been revealed, including the standard range of products you would expect from a main Pokemon TCG set, as well as a few extra and interesting products, like the Mega Charizard X ex Ultra Premium Collection. Although that premium product is only thematically related to Phantasmal Flames, it still shares the same release date as the main set.
Phantasmal Flames is shaping up to be an incredible set. It’s not only the ideal way to close 2025 out, it’s a great way to set up the great things to come in the era of Mega Evolution!
