Pitch Black English Spoilers and Card List

It seems that July is about to get unnecessarily spooky for a summer month thanks to the confirmed release of Pokemon TCG: Mega Evolution – Pitch Black scheduled for July 17, 2026.

Yet another smaller Pokemon TCG set with just over 115 cards (compare that to Ascended Heroe’s whopping 295), players will be able to “harness the frightening power of Mega Darkrai ex, as well as Mega Zeraora ex, Mega Chandelure ex, and Mega Excadrill ex!”

That’s a pretty star-studded cast of Pokémon, considering both Mega Darkrai and Zeraora are mythical Pokemon with enough star power to headline their own sets!

Below, we’ll be getting into everything we know about the set so far, including early cards already spoiled in English.

Learn to fear the dark with these powerful new Mega Pokémon ex

    Mega Darkrai ex

By far the most exciting card coming out of Pitch Black that we know about so far is Mega Darkrai ex itself. Mega Darkrai is a very cool Pokémon within the Pokémon universe (and if you haven’t seen its movie called The Rise of Darkrai I highly recommend you do so).

However, Darkrai is just a misunderstood Pokémon – it seems quite sinister but is actually just trying to help.

With attacks like Abyss Eye (the very name of the Japanese sister set that originally spoiled Mega Darkrai ex), players will undoubtedly have a hard time not fearing this particular Mega Evolution regardless of its intent. Abyss Eye is seriously powerful, enabling you to knock out your opponent’s Pokemon in a single attack, regardless of its HP.

    Mega Excadrill ex

    Mega Excadrill ex

Of course, Mega Darkrai isn’t the only Mega Pokémon to get excited about. While I’m personally looking forward to seeing the English version of Zeroara when it gets officially revealed, until then we have this interesting Mega Excadrill ex to look at. Admittedly, Maximum Drilling is a pretty solid attack. Swinging for 330 damage with 340 HP is no joke, making this an intriguing attacker especially for lovers of metal decks.

    Pitch Black Promo cards

    Zarude ETB promo

Pitch Black seems to just be filled to the brim with Mythical Pokemon as we’ll also be getting an exciting Zarude promo card within the Pitch Black Elite Trainer Box. I particularly love the way the red sky frames the dark gray shadows of the rest of this card’s artwork.

While this early spoiled promo bears the Pokémon Center stamp (only available in the exclusive Pokémon Center ETB), we’ll be getting the same artwork in the regular ETB as well.

    Blister promos

While most of the cards included with the Pitch Black blisters are cards released in previous sets (only with different foiling), two net new promos have been revealed to release alongside the summer set within blisters. These are the below Slowpoke and Binacle which you can get in the one-pack and three-pack blisters when the set releases.

    Pitch Black product lineup

The complete product lineup has been revealed for Pitch Black, and it includes all of the products that typically are released alongside a main expansion, including a Booster Box, Build & Battle, Booster Bundle, and the ETBs (both standard and Pokémon Center exclusive).

    Pitch Black artworks

Finally, check out these sick artworks shared by the Pokémon Company! Save these as wallpapers on your fav device and get stoked for this very excitingly scary set! The artworks feature all the Mega Pokémon from the set, including Mega Darkrai ex, as well as Mega Zeraora ex, Mega Chandelure ex, and Mega Excadrill ex

Stay tuned for more updates as they become released, and bookmark this page and check back often as I’ll be updating it with even more Pitch Black spoilers as they are released!
