10 Most Expensive Chase Cards in Silver Tempest

Most Valuable Cards in Pokemon TCG Silver Tempest

Silver Tempest came and went, and will long be remembered as one of the best Pokemon expansions in recent memory.

It had just about everything you want from a great Pokemon pack. It had the super valuable and artistically appealing alt art chase card, and plenty of supporting beautiful cards to give you something to open as you seek out that chase card you really want.

Below, we’re ranking the top 10 most expensive chase cards from Silver Tempest.

10. Alolan Vulpix VSTAR Rainbow Rare

Market price: $12.19

No one paid a lot of attention to Alolan Vulpix when it first came out. Despite the fact that Alolan Vulpix is a beautiful card in general, it took some time before people took notice not only of how cool this card looks, but also how playable it was in the meta back then. As far as rainbow rare cards go, this is one of the cleanest looking, and certainly worth adding to your collection.

9. Friends of Galar

Market price: $12.34

I don’t think anyone anticipated this particular card to retain value so well. But, then again it has Marnie in it.

8. Forest Seal Stone

Market price: $15.30

It’s rare, but ocasionaly you do get a regular ordinary trainer card that is so playable and sought after that it actually has a market for it. Forest Seal Stone is one of those cards. It’s basically a must for any deck that runs Pokemon V but no VSTAR, giving them the ability to pull one card of any kind from their deck. Unlike other Pokemon abilities, this is a VSTAR Power, meaning that it can’t be shut off by things like Path to the Peak, or similar sort of cards that are quite popular in the current meta.

7. Lugia VSTAR Gold

Market price: $15.92

Lugia VSTAR Gold card is a pretty gorgeous gold card, and the first of three Lugia cards to make it to the top of this list. No surprise, given Lugia is the star of Silver Tempest. At $15.92, however, this gold card is certainly worth the price.

6. Regidrago V Alternate Art

Market price: $16.78

The alternate art cards in Silver Tempest came right around a time that saw incredible demand for Pokemon cards. Since then, it’s plain to see the market has cooled. Regidrago V Alt Art, for example, is worth less than half the price it was when it first came out, making it an ideal card for collectors to pick up, especially if they are looking to complete the set.

5. Unown V (Alternate Full Art)

Market price: $17.99

This is our favorite alternate art from the set, other than Lugia. I love the way it looks like Unown is being released from some sort of ancient ruins, and it brings to mind the era that Unown was a part of (which had some of the best games in the series).

For anyone into Pokemon collecting for the nostalgic side of things, this is a great and affordable alternative art to pick up.

Silver Tempest Chase Cards

4. Lugia VSTAR Rainbow Rare

Market price: $25.42

Lugia VSTAR rainbow has retained its price well since the set’s release. Given rainbow rare cards are a thing of the past, and Lugia’s enduring popularity, this is certainly a strong collectible item you may want to hold onto.

3. Serena (Full Art)

Market price: $25.41

As we said when the set first came out, the full art version of Serena would do well in retaining its value. While it is certainly not worth as much as it was when it first came out in 2022, it still marks a strong value in your collection, and certainly a better price tag than when it was worth more than double the price.

Rayquaza VMAX Alt Art

2. Rayquaza VMAX Trainer Gallery

Market price: $31.41

Few cards in the Pokemon TCG deliver value like Rayquaza. The Trainer Gallery of this card is no exception. If you are lucky enough to pull this card, sleeve it up and put it away. It’s likely to retain its value overtime.

Not only is Rayquaza one of the most bankable Pokemon cards of them all, this particular card is pretty awesome – just as cool if not cooler than the Alternate Arts you can buy – and considerably more affordable right now!

Most Valuable Card Silver Tempest – Lugia V Alt Art
  1. Lugia V Alternate Art

Market price: $135.99

Alt Art Lugia will undoubtedly be the most valuable card of this set now and in the future. My best prediction is that it will also be one of the most valuable cards of the entire Sword and Shield era, right up there with some of the greats from evolving skies. Oddly enough, this card reminds me of another Pokemon card that has held up its value incredibly well overtime, that card being the legendary Shining Gyarados.

Not only is the card itself fantastic, but it will be helped by the fact that Lugia VSTAR is one of the best decks in the Pokemon TCG standard format, adding to its worth and visibility.
