NIKKE Exotic/Wardress Yuni Deck – UNION ARENA

What is the aggro deck from NIKKE worth investing in? There are two aggro decks from the set and both are strong in different ways. In this deck guide, we’ll be looking at the Yellow Exotic/Wardress deck that focuses on the Yuni Raid. Capable of moving fast and hitting hard, Exotic/Wardress is the deck of choice for those not interested in late game plays, outright removal, or building up to a big attacker.

We’ll go into the deck list below and all of its key cards and combos.

Exotic/Wardress deck list

Like many yellow decks, Exotic/Wardress focuses on switching opposing characters to resting to open up holes in your opponent’s defenses. By doing this, you are able to enable to aggro play that looks to take your opponent’s life before they can build up to their stronger cards and combos.

The Yuni deck doesn’t want the game to last too long as it doesn’t have the removal capabilities or other Impact/Damage 2 capabilities to keep up in a protracted battle. What it does have, however, is fantastic resting capabilities and solid ways to swarm the board with characters.

Take Viper for example

This Viper card is understated and very strong. While she does cost 2 AP to play, play her to the energy line and you can play another character to the front line. While that’s a solid way to build up your board, it doesn’t stop there. You’ll be able to switch her to resting the following turn to reduce the BP of all opposing characters with 1000 or more BP by 500 while granting Damage 2 to one character on your front line.

Two AP-cost Viper is an incredibly useful character to this deck, allowing aggression on your part while softening up your opponent’s defenses, and making it easier to get that damage 2 attack through.

But she’s not the only Viper this deck has to offer

Three-cost Viper is also vital to this deck strategy. She’s so vital, in fact, that she bears this deck’s Color trigger. She’s all about enabling aggro early game plays, much like the Bakko does from the Kaiju No. 8 Yellow Mina deck. with only three energy on the energy line you can play her and promote another attacker – a very powerful play early in the game that lets you get more attacks off than you otherwise could.

Combo Viper’s free play with “The Weak and the Strong”

Use Viper’s effect to play a character for free, then play this deck’s special to force an opposing character to resting and one of yours to active. When combined in this way, you can unlock yet another highly aggressive play.

The Yuni play

Speaking of Viper, another combo to play into her is with the Raid Yuni. Undoubtedly this deck’s strongest card, there are many combos you can use between the Yuni and the Viper, including swapping the free card played via Viper with another attacker on the energy line, or to lower your opponent’s characters by yet another 500 BP, making them easier to swing through.

Two-cost Yuni also plays well into your strategy by letting you switch an opposing character to resting, making her a fantastic raid target for four-cost Yuni.

Raid Yuni works well into Jackal as well. Use Yuni’s effect to rest the Jackal, enable the BP reducing effect, and your Jackal will switch back to active anyways. You can also combo Jackal with the Viper effect that reduces BP and grants Damage 2 depending on what you need.

Regardless of the play you choose, clearly the 2 AP Viper and Raid Yuni are the backbones of this deck. And while using the “switch to resting” effects into Jackal may be the strongest play, you can alternatively target your Mihara character. This character is handy because she has Nulify Impact, making her a solid defensive choice, while her effect lets you rest yet another character on your opponent’s field to resting when she is switched to resting via Viper or Yuni.

Draw and consistency cards

Admittedly, Exotic/Wardress Yuni is a deck that could benefit from a little more draw. It’s a symptom that many Yellow decks have, and this deck is no exception. However, you do have a zero-cost draw-one-sideline-one thanks to Marian and the solid two-cost Crow character.

While Crow’s When Played is fairly standard for two-cost searching characters, what makes her unique is that you can reuse her effect as often as you’d like, as long as you switch a character on your front line to resting.

Exotic/Wardress Yuni is a deck that is quite complex despite being a deck meant to move fast and hit hard. Yet it’s strongest attribute is that it lets you play more cards and switch more cards to active while simultaneously opening up holes in your opponent’s defenses. Yet, there are some defintite weaknesses in this deck, too – like lack of Impact. It’s not the strongest NIKKE UNION ARENA deck – far from it. But it’s an interesting and complex strategy that many might look to try out for themselves.
