Paldean Fates Elite Trainer Box: is it Worth it?

Of course I’ve been excited for this new Pokemon set to come out since I heard about its release months ago. However, seeing is believing, and after opening this Paldean Fates Elite Trainer Box, I can certainly say that I am a believer. It’s the most fun I’ve had opening Pokemon products in a while. Although I only managed to hit a few shiny Pokemon, I also managed to get an ultra rare card, and a Charizard ex – all in the same ETB!

What does the Paldean Fates ETB come with?

The Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Paldean Fates Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box includes:
• 9 Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Paldean Fates booster packs Each booster pack contains 10 cards and 1 Basic Energy. Cards vary by pack.
• 1 full-art foil promo card featuring Shiny Mimikyu
• 65 card sleeves featuring Shiny Mimikyu
• 45 Pokémon TCG Energy cards
• A player’s guide to the Scarlet & Violet—Paldean Fates expansion
• 6 damage-counter dice
• 1 competition-legal coin-flip die
• 2 plastic condition markers
• A box to hold everything, with 4 dividers to keep it organized
• A code card for Pokémon Trading Card Game Live

And while that’s all well-and-good, my favorite part of this ETB was definitely the cards waiting for me inside the packs.

What promo does this ETB come with?

Paldean Fates ETB

If you’ve purchased a Pokemon Elite Trainer Box recently you might have noticed that each one comes with a special promo card. Think of it as an added freebie you get for purchasing the product.

An alternate art Mimikyu is the goody you get with the Paldean Fates ETB. The artwork is quite pleasant – almost pastoral, and Mimikyu is an underrated card as well, making it a welcome addition to this ETB.

How is the Paldean Fates pull rate?

Of course my experience is just one experience among countless ETBs, but I have to say the experience was an extreme positive. I pulled several rare Pokemon cards. Even better, I got some exciting shiny Pokemon, like Snorlax and Staryu, and of course the incredibly impressive Pidgeot ex shiny.

These cards felt very substantial, especially when compared to previous packs. Although some people have complained about Paldean Fates using the same shiny pattern from previous shiny sets, the pattern and the colors of the shiny Pokemon were really exhilarating. They looked good, and felt like finding something of value.

Is the Paldean Fates Elite Trainer Box Worth it?

At face value, the Paldean Fates ETB is a strong value. You’re getting what you pay for given the current market price of a Paldean Fates pack, and it’s quite likely you’ll pull something fantastic given how good these Paldean Fates pull rates seem to be so far (we’re not the only ones reporting that we’re happy with our pulls).

Of course, you also get some pretty cool stuff along with the packs like excellent damage counters (the coolest looking so far) and a Mimikyu promo card.

Overall, the Paldean Fates ETB offers a strong value to collectors and players and a great entry product to the promising set that is Paldean Fates
