Knights of the Round/Lancelot Hybrid Deck | UNION ARENA

There’s been a ton of excitement about the upgrades coming to Lancelot in UNION ARENA: Code Geass Vol. 2. While most are gravitating towards a traditional Lancelot build combined with Nunnally, I’ve been enjoying a hybrid version combining the Knights of the Round with the traditional Lancelot line.

Below, let’s look at my custom deck build for this archetype that you can use to build your own deck from!

Lancelot/Knights of the Round Deck List

Lancelot/Knights of the Round Deck List

What I like best about this deck is actually how complimentary these strategies can be. While at first the Knights of the Round and Classic Lancelot feel like polar opposites, combining the two actually unlocks some significant opportunities. Suddenly, you have some utility to leverage outside of just building up an energy line as quickly as possible to play your strongest Lancelot characters.

Additionally, Lancelot has more draw than ever thanks to the addition of zero-cost Anya and two-cost Nunnally.

Nunnally is just as strong in the hybrid version as she is in the classic build, not only giving you that draw but solidifying your energy line very early on in the game.

Of course, you’ll be building up to your two strongest Lancelot characters, with an especial focus on six-cost Lancelot the same way you do in the classic build. However, it’s the added utility of the Knights of the Round that really makes this deck sing. Below, let’s take a look at what’s new with the Knights of the Round deck strategy.

Knights of the Round Strategy

The fundamental strategy is to focus on the combination of the Lancelot Conquista and the two-cost Suzaku Knight of the Round.

While you have a baked in damage 2 attacker thanks to the six-cost Lancelot, you can also make any Knight of the Round character a damage 2 attacker thanks to the phenomenally powerful two-cost Suzaku. Don’t underestimate this guy!

The most powerful setup between these two is to have both of them on the front line together. Use Lancelot Conquista to power up the Suzaku to become a 4000 BP character, and then use Suzaku to turn the Conquista into a Damage 2 attacker. At only four-cost that’s pretty insane, and it gets even better if you have the required number Knights of the Round characters on the field. Manage to pull that off and your Conquista is a Damage 2 Impact 1 character!

The Mordred

The Mordred is a handy card in this deck build, mostly to fend off aggressive threats your opponent will undoubtedly look to use against you in order to take you out before your Lancelot’s come online. Mordred is an exceptionally powerful card, capable of double block (to keep foes at bay) while granting Impact +1 to another Knight of the Round card on the field. It also boosts to 4000 BP with three or more other Knights of the Round on the field.

While not foolproof, having 20 Knights of the Rounds characters in this deck certainly makes it possible to hit this threshold.

While this deck’s primary strategy still revolves around getting your six-cost Lancelot online and overwhelming the front line, it’s certainly nice to have other fallback options, making the deck more versatile in the current meta. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a hybrid like this one do very, very well at competitions!
