Pokemon Scarlet & Violet 151

If there’s one set from the Scarlet and Violet era of Pokemon TCG that excites us, it’s 151. This set is likely to go down as one of the best special sets of modern times. In this guide, we’re going to give you everything you need to know about Pokemon Scarlet & Violet 151, what products to look out for, when you can get it, and which cards are likely to be the most valuable.

Updated October 6 – Pokemon Scarlet & Violet–151 is now generally available, as is the Pokemon 151 Ultra Premium Collection! See below for the full Pokemon 151 product release schedule.

Why Are We So Excited About Scarlet and Violet 151?

It’s simple, really. For the first time in over 20 years, collectors can collect the original 151 Pokemon in a single set. That’s enough to make anyone bite their nails in anticipation.

When is the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet 151 Release Date?

The worldwide release of 151 is September 22, 2023. However, many of the most anticipated products won’t be available until October 6, 2023.

Which Scarlet & Violet 151 Sealed Products Should I Know About?

There are several products you’ll want to be aware of in the Scarlet & Violet 151 set.

151 Ultra-Premium Collection – Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

First of all, the coolest product by far you’ll want to look into is the 151 Ultra-Premium Collection - SV: Scarlet and Violet 151 (MEW). What makes this box so unique is not only the fact that it’s part of the 151 set – it also contains:

• 1 etched foil promo card featuring Mew ex
• 1 full-art foil promo card featuring Mewtwo
• 1 etched metal card featuring Mew ex

The Pokemon Scarlet & Violet 151 Ultra Premium Collection became available on October 6, 2023.

151 Elite Trainer Box - Scarlet & Violet

While the Ultra-Premium collection is probably the thing we are most excited about, there’s one caveat. As mentioned above, it won’t be available until the 6th of October, 2023. So if you’re really eager to catch all 151, you’re going to want to pick up the Scarlet & Violet Elite Trainer Box.

The Elite Trainer Box is now available both online and in stores!

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet 151

Pokemon 151 Elite Trainer Box Release Date

This Elite Trainer Box became available on September 22, 2023.

For the most part, this ETB is just like any other, except that the promo it comes with is that of a Snorlax. So if this sleepy Pokemon holds a special place in your heart (it does in mine), then you might want to think about picking it up.

This is the Snorlax promo card you can get from the S&V 151 ETB.

151 Booster Bundle - SV

Because this is a special set, you can’t actually buy 151 in packs at the store in in booster boxes the way you would a regular Pokemon expansion. But unlike past special sets, you can get 151 in the form of a booster bundle. Booster bundles offer 6 packs in them. Normally, they aren’t all that great of a value (truth be told). However, getting access to a special set in this way seems pretty nice. So you might want to consider picking one up.

Another good thing about the booster bundle: it became available starting September 22.

This booster bundle is the closest thing you’re going to get to a booster box for Pokemon 151. It became available on September 22.

A Few Additional Pokemon 151 Products to Consider

While we think the Booster Bundle, Elite Trainer Box, and Ultra Premium Collection are the most exciting products to come out of Pokemon 151, there are a few additional Products you may want to consider.

Pokemon 151 Products

151 Binder Collection - SV: Scarlet and Violet 151 (MEW)

This Binder Collection is especially a good for those looking to collect all 151 Pokemon. It became available on September 22, 2023.

Considering the binder you get and the booster packs for just $24.99, this set is a pretty good value.

Pokemon 151 Products

151 Poster Collection - SV: Scarlet and Violet 151 (MEW)

The concept for this one is a little unusual, but the poster it comes with is actually pretty cool and high quality. Not to mention you get three packs, and the three promos, making this very much worth the $14.99 suggested retail price.

The Poster Collection became available on September 22, 2023.

151 Pokemon Center Elite Trainer Box (Exclusive)

Although the regular Pokemon 151 ETB is going to be a better bet in regard to value, many people enjoy these Pokemon Center exclusive ETBs. They’re pretty much the same things as the regular ETBs except they have two extra booster packs and a special Snorlax with the Pokemon Center stamp.

Zapdos ex and Alakazam ex Collection Boxes

Release date: October 6, 2023

There are two additional collection boxes you may want to know about. Not only are these quite popular, they come with pretty cool promos featuring the very popular Zapdos ex and Alakazam.

Depending on whether you get the Zapdos or Alakazam ex, here’s what you’ll get:
• 1 foil promo card featuring Alakazam ex or Zapdos Ex
• 1 foil card featuring Kadabra or Electabuzz
• 1 foil card featuring Abra or 1 Oversized card featuring Zapdos ex.
• 4 Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—151 booster packs
• A code card for Pokémon TCG Live

What are the Rarest Cards in Scarlet & Violet 151?

Lastly, the part you’ve all been waiting for – what are the most valuable cards in 151? To help you out, we’ve compiled a list of the most valuable cards in Pokemon 151 the set. Here are a handful of the rarest ones below.

Charizard EX – Special Illustration Rare

Charizard ex - 199/165

Market price: $166.49

While there are plenty of other cards in 151 that you are going to want to collect, this Charizard ex is going to be at the top of that heap. Out of any of the other cards, this one is most likely to retain the most value. Everyone knows Charizard is the most valuable Pokemon card of them all, and this is one heck of a Charizard card.

Blastoise ex Special Illustration Rare

Take a look at this Blastoise! Okay – sure we all love the original base set of Pokemon. But there’s something to be said about just how far this hobby has come. I mean, this Blastoise isn’t just kitsch or a cute creature from a children’s card game. That right there, my friends, is art.

Erika’s Invitation Special Illustration Rare

Erika's Invitation - 203/165

Market price: $67.49

Due to the recent trend of female trainer cards picking up a lot of money on the market, this will likely be one of the top pulls to come out of 151. To add to the trend, Erika is also a pretty popular character in her own right.

Zapdos ex - 202/165

Market price: $64.33

Right now, this Zapdos ex Special Illustration Rare is one of the most sought after cards in 151. It feels a little bit like getting a three for one because not only does it include Zapdos, it also has the other two Legendary bird from Kanto as well.

With a collection of beautiful cards like these, and strong pull rates, you can expect Pokemon 151 to be a big hit with collectors everywhere.
