What is Into the Inklands?

Into the Inklands is the third set of the Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game. If the first two sets – The First Chapter and The Rise of the Floodborn – are anything to go by, then Into the Inklands is likely to be a fantastic trading card game expansion.

Lorcana: Into the Inklands release date

Into the Inklands has a full release date set for March 8, 2024. However, products from the third set will be available once again on an early, limited release from local game shops, select Disney Parks, and from secondary card markets like TCGplayer beginning February 23, 2024.

How many cards will be included in Into the Inklands?

Into the Inklands will include a total of 204 new cards – the same number as the first two sets. There are also an additional 18 secret, enchanted rare cards.

All Into the Inkland Cards have been revealed!

Every single card from Lorcana: Into the Inklands has been revealed. See our complete Into the Inklands card list and review for more insights into every single card.

What are the rarest cards in Into the Inklands?

Enchanted rare cards are the most valuable Lorcana cards and the hardest to pull from packs. All of these ultimate chase cards have already been revealed, and you can see all 18 of them below.

For a more detailed analysis of each of these cards, you can read our overview of the Into the Inklands Enchanted cards.

What is the theme and story of Into the Inklands?

Ravensburger and the Disney Lorcana team has been doing a solid job of slowly introducing us deeper and deeper into the world that inspires the gameplay of Lorcana and vice versa. That’s right – the world of Lorcana is actually a separate place from the worlds that the Disney characters on the cards inhabit. These cards are only glimmers of these characters, and those glimmers can change and take on new looks, talents and abilities based on various external, magical forces.

Into the Inklands is all about location cards

While we’ve been exposed to how it is that character glimmers can change shape and form, we’ve yet to be introduced to the world outside the Grand Illuminary. Into the Inklands is taking us out into that precise world, and the Inklands really are what location cards are all about.

Into the Inklands – Location Cards announced

Into the Inkland Location
This set will change up your game with a brand-new element: location cards! Discover new landscapes as you venture across the Inklands in search of lore that was scattered by the recent flood. These locations add a whole new dimension of gameplay and a fresh new spin to every deck.
— Disney Lorcana

While Location Cards have a firm footing in Lorcana’s lore, they also have a practical impact on the Disney Lorcana TCG. And that impact is going to be big. Given the gravity of the announcement, Disney Lorcana’s team held a session where they reviewed how Location Cards work in considerable depth. Here are a few important points you should know about Location cards:

  • Locations have an ink cost.

  • They can be inkable or not inkable (same as all other cards).

  • Locations have will power – it works the same as will power on characters.

  • Locations have a movement cost cost. That odd symbol on the left side is the cost it takes to move a characters to that location.

While getting location cards are really cool, it’s not necessarily a massively new mechanic for TCGs. While it will undoubtedly modify the way Lorcana decks are built, other TCGs have similar sorts of cards that alter the terrain of battle, like Field Spells in Yugioh or Stadium cards in Pokemon.

Into the Inklands includes new Disney properties

In addition to exciting new location cards, Into the Badlands will also be introducing several new Disney properties into the game, including:

  • DuckTales

  • TaleSpin

  • Treasure Planet

More specifically, Ravensburger mentions sending “Disney's Kit Cloudkicker questing through the air on his airfoil” drawing “a solar sailing Disney's Jim Hawkins card into your hand, and more!”

Into the Inklands Preorders, Products & Prices

Into the Inklands is now generally available!

Below you will find information on every single Into the Inklands sealed product, including their current market price. We’ve already opened many of the products below, so you can also find real pictures of what you can expect to find inside, as well as the best cards we pulled.

Into the Inklands Booster Box

Market price: $121.83

We had some amazing pulls from the booster box we got from Rise of the Floodborn, and I would expect that the booster box from Into the Inklands is going to be just as exciting to crack open. Preorder information isn’t available yet, however each booster box contains 24 booster packs with each booster pack containing 12 cards. Booster boxes are the best way to save money if you plan on opening a lot of packs.

See the rarest pulls we got from the Into the Inklands Booster Box below.

Into the Inklands Illumineer’s Trove

Market price: $78.76

Illumineer’s Troves are our favorite Lorcana products so far, offering a fantastic experience, beautiful storage boxes that we still use for all of our cards, all for typically a good price.

That’s not all that’s new in the Troves from Into the Inklands, however. Ravensburger has made significant improvements to them this time around, dropping the cheap deck boxes that nobody really uses in favor of card dividers to help you orgnanize your cards better and a really cool Lore counter.

If you don’t know what a lore counter is, it’s a little spinning dial that is ideal for tracking your lore during a game. I guess I will be saving a lot of battery running my lore counter app, now.

Contents:

  • 1 Card storage box

  • 6 Card Dividers

  • 8 Booster packs of 12 additional game cards each

  • 6 Damage-counter dice

  • 1 Lore counter

We had the opportunity to open the Inklands Trove early. You can see our pictures of what it looks like in the gallery below, as well as the rare cards we got.

Into the Inklands Gift Set

Market price: $52.22

This reveal is actually pretty cool – we are getting a new gift set along with the rest of the usual Lorcana products in Into the Inklands. Into the Inklands returns to the initial style of The Fist Chapter, delivering two jumbo cards alongside the rest of the goodies (four booster packs and two promo cards).

Unfortunately, compared to how cool the Disney100 collection gift set was, it’s going to be hard for this one to compare. I would much rather have special artwork cards that commemorate Disney100 than jumbo cards that are probably going to get thrown out.

Still, it’s an exciting product that certainly would make a great gift.

The gift set includes:
• 2 oversized foil cards
• 2 playable foil cards
• 34 damage counters
• 2 lore tracker tokens
• 4 booster packs of 12 additional game cards each

Take a look at the two cards included in the gift set below.

Ruby/Sapphire: this deck relies heavily on location cards and presents a strong, cohesive approach to gameplay that is almost ready to start competing direclty out of the box.

Each starter deck includes:
