Demon Slayer Muzan Deck List (Vol 2) – UNION ARENA

Never count the Demon King out, nor the Demon Slayer Vol. 2 Muzan deck! While weak before, it’s a whole different animal now, and this deck is sure to be a favorite both in the UNION ARENA meta as well as a powerhouse during the Demon Slayer Vol. 2 Rare Battles coming up in 2026.

Muzan Deck List – Vol. 2

New cards in Demon Slayer Vol. 2 make Muzan a powerhouse

A few new cards really help the Muzan strategy in Demon Slayer Vol. 2, making it one of the strongest Demon Slayer decks overall. The strongest card by far, however, is the new five-cost Muzan.

Five-cost Muzan is powerful

While this deck may still be all about the four-cost Muzan who you’ll be using to close out the game, five-cost Muzan works harder to set your end-of-game play up for success. While he’ll be gaining Impact at 15 cards in the sideline, that’s secondary to Muzan’s “When Played” effect that makes him ideal for this build.

Essentially, play Muzan and then sideline as many characters as you want from your field. This solves several critical problems for Muzan.

  1. It rapidly accelerates the number of cards in your sideline.

  2. You can activate your character’s “When Sidelined” effects.

  3. You get to draw a card for every character sidelined in this way.

Of course, many of your other card effects activate based on sidelining, adding further incentive to use this powerful effect. As if all of that weren’t enough, Muzan also has a secondary effect that lets you play a three-cost or less character for free, helping make up for the fact you probably just sidelined your entire front line or more when Muzan was played.

The only slightly odd thing about this Muzan is that he comes with the Active Trigger instead of Get. I suppose that makes him slightly less broken but still – more Active Triggers in this deck isn’t a bad thing, either.

Gyokko Raid Package

While Enmu was a decent raid character for Muzan in the first set, the new Gyokko is arguably an even more effective Raid Character to pair with Muzan.

Not only does Gyokko have the raid target with a draw-one-sideline-one, Raid Gyokko has another draw effect as well as the When Played that really makes him stand out. Use this “When Played” to remove low BP aggro attackers or chump blockers to clear the way for four-cost Muzan.

A new and improved Special

As nice as the original special was, it’s also nice to have an extremely easy to play 5000 BP removal Special for Muzan that doesn’t require you to sideline one of your own to use. This can be much more effective to establish board dominance in a pinch.

Solving the triggerless problem

Vol. 1 Muzan had a definite trigger problem. Vol. 2 Muzan…not so much. In fact, you’re only going to be running four triggerless characters in this build. Not only does that help you get more value out of life, but the cards that replaced those triggerless characters are much stronger. Urogi lets you draw a card when he is sidelined, and Karaku lets you fuel your sideline. Both are optimal partners for Muzan in Vol. 2.

In the end, it’s all about Muzan

Of course, in the end it’s all about Muzan. You’re building up to 20 cards in sideline for one reason and one reason only – being able to move Muzan to the front line. Do this with relative ease by hitting 20 on your turn then sidelining your zero-cost Teoni to promote the Muzan. Do that and you’re swinging for Damage 2 and Impact 2. Assuming you’ve played your cards right, your opponent likely won’t survive more than a turn or two once Muzan hits the field, making him a very strong late game closer.
