Vinland Saga – Strongest Characters Ranked
With the second season of Vinland Saga now available, let’s take a look back at who we know were the strongest characters from season one. In this list, you will find the strongest Vinland Saga characters ranked from strong to strongest. Without further ado, let’s dive right in.
#6 Bjorn
Bjorn is a strong backup fighter to any of these stronger men on the list. Although not capable of going toe-to-toe with them, he can beat any run of the mill fighter, and is also able to get a lot stronger with mushrooms in his system.
#5 Canute
Although Canute does not appear to be the strongest viking of all time, he is, in fact, much more dangerous than you at first suspect. After all, Canute is based after one of the greatest viking kings of all time. Eventually, we get to see his tougher side. And while he may not be the physically strongest, he plays the role of leader ruthlessly, making him quite dangerous.
#4 Thorkell the Tall
Based on a real, historical viking, Thorkell is the physically strongest character in all of Vinland saga. But he can’t quite match Thors for skill and battle prowess, and he doesn’t have the brain of Askelad. Still, Thorkell is one of the most dangerous vikings around at the time of the first season of Vinland Saga, and makes for a powerful ally, and a deadly foe.
#3 Thorfin
Believe it or not, Thorfin is a very powerful viking. He’s strong, madly driven, and possesses an iron will that is second to none. Combined, these abilities make Thorfin a force to be reckoned with.
#2 Askelad
Thors may have Askelad beaten in regards to raw power, but Askelad is still a brilliant tactitian. His mental prowess and skill with the sword are what earn him the second place on this list. Askelad is driven by a desire to defend his homeland, and he’s willing to stop at nothing to see that ambition through.
#1 Thors
Thors is so tough that he seems basically invincible. As we have seen, Thorfin has inherited much of his father’s battle prowess. But he’s not as strong. Not yet, anyway. Thors was once a member of the elite and mysterious Jomsvikings. However, after having his first child, he realized he wasn’t as fearless as he once was. But he was certainly as strong as ever.
By the time we see Thors fight in the show, he’s been a farmer for a while. How powerful he was at his peak fitness is quite a terrible thought.
